The Seed & Tree cosmetics were really helpful when it was so painful to leave the first review.
I started having adult acne problems in my 20s, and I normally had one or two inflamed pimples and basic whiteheads. Before my period, I would get multiple inflamed pimples around my chin, making my face look like a sea urchin - a total disaster.
I went to a dermatologist, took Chinese herbal medicine, and tried everything, but the effects were temporary. Then, around two years ago, my forehead and cheeks developed contact and seborrheic dermatitis - my skin was bright red, swollen, and scaly, with severe itching. It was agonizing - the skin would ooze fluid when I scratched it in my sleep. The dermatologist's medication and ointments would help temporarily, but as soon as I stopped using them, the symptoms returned, making life miserable. On top of the constant skin issues, I felt depressed and didn't want to live.
I kept using steroid ointments, with my skin improving and worsening in cycles. I bought various cosmetics recommended on social media, but they only made my skin worse, leaving me frustrated and disappointed. As I became less trusting of online reviews, I discovered the Hwahae website and spent all night reading detailed product reviews. While a few people said the products didn't work for them, the majority raved about them passionately, which was a bit concerning. But then I found a long post from someone with the same skin type as me, and I purchased the entire routine they recommended, including this Aloe Essential.
Skeptically, I started using the products consistently, and the dermatitis symptoms improved significantly - I was no longer a "leprosy patient." The steroid ointment is now only needed once or twice a month before my period. The inflamed pimples have also decreased, though I still have some acne scarring.
Seed & Tree is a natural, preservative-free brand, so the effects aren't dramatic right away. At first, I just thought it was a gentle skincare line, but with persistent, long-term use, my skin has gradually improved in ways I never imagined. I realized I had become one of the Seed & Tree devotees without even realizing it.
While some products didn't work for me, most of the others were great, and the Aloe line was the most gentle and suitable for my skin. Among them, the Aloe Essential was the best.
Especially in the summer, after cleansing, I just apply a thin layer of the Aloe Gel over my skin toner, and it's lightly moisturizing (but be careful not to use too much, as it can feel heavy).
It's affordable and comes in a large size, so I recommend trying it out, especially in the summer.
The product has a relatively short shelf life, but the volume is on the larger side. It would be great if there was a smaller size option. The volume could be slightly overstated, so you need to be careful with the application amount and spread it evenly to avoid clumping. You also need to vigorously pat it in to ensure proper absorption.
During the day, it's okay to apply it a bit thickly when going out bare-faced, but on days when you need to wear makeup, it can be inconvenient, so I recommend applying it at night. On days when your face feels warm, apply it generously and tie your hair up in a bun, placing a towel underneath before sleeping. When you wake up and rinse it off with water, your skin will look radiant and any blemishes will be improved in the morning.
Using it as a sleeping pack is the most effective, but if you find it uncomfortable to sleep with, I recommend applying it thickly, leaving it on for 20-30 minutes, and then rinsing it off as a wash-off pack.
