The color looks incredibly natural. It's so moisturizing that my lips don't feel dry after application. The staying power is quite impressive too. I haven't experienced any disappointments while using this product. If I come across any drawbacks later, I'll make sure to update my review. For an even smoother and prettier application, try exfoliating your lips to remove dead skin cells before applying the product. - jg*********Oily SkinAcne SkinMay 22, 2021
I just finished writing a review for the Jungshin Cherry Cha we bought together... 1. Color It's hard to describe. When swatched on my arm, it's like a dried rose with a hint of coral. But on the lips, it goes on so sheer, like the Jungshin Cherry Cha, that you can barely tell what color it is. 2. No staining There's no staining, which makes it great for reapplication. 3. No stickiness or slipperiness Exactly as it says - there's none, which is great. Overall verdict: Please, for the love of all that is holy, don't buy this either. 1. Scent Just like I mentioned in the Jungshin Cherry Cha review, what's up with this smell? It has an odor that makes you think it shouldn't be applied to skin. I can't be the only one experiencing this, right? 2. Hydration Being a stick format, I didn't have high expectations, but it's so drying that I need to reapply frequently. - gy*******Dry SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedMay 3, 2021
This lip balm has a beautiful color. When applied on its own, it gives a moisturized and lively look that I really like. For a lip balm, it feels a bit less hydrating than expected. It's almost as if there's just a thin layer of oil on the surface. - hj*****Dry SkinRecommendedApr 19, 2021
It feels natural and moisturizing. I highly recommend this for those with muted skin tones! I've only used it for a day, so I can't really pinpoint any drawbacks yet! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 7, 2020
The best thing about this is how versatile it is. Since my lips have a grayish tint, it adds a bit of a healthy glow. I don't like sticky textures, but this feels light and not tacky at all. The color is so pretty that even on a bare face, it gives you a healthy, vibrant look. I love that it doesn't leave any stains - it wipes off completely with a tissue. As expected from a tinted lip balm, the hydration isn't particularly strong. You need to reapply it frequently. If you wear it to bed, it might transfer onto your pillow. - au********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsRednessSep 5, 2020
1. Appearance Glossy plastic case. It looks a bit toy-like, but surprisingly sturdy. When opened, the lid color matches the lip balm itself. The slanted cut of the balm makes it visually appealing and easy to apply. Overall, it's neither particularly pretty nor ugly - just looks like a typical tinted lip balm. (I've been using the Juicy Pang Tint, and this clearly looks like it's from the same line. A'PIEU seems to focus on basics rather than fancy designs. This keeps prices low, making it an accessible, value-for-money brand for everyone, though it may lack trendiness.) 2. Hydration It's a solid, average lip balm. As someone who constantly applies lip balm due to dead skin cells and is quite picky, I find this one works without major issues (like inadequate moisturizing, sitting on top of lips, being too thick and sticky, or evaporating quickly). It glides on smoothly, though like most lip balms, it can sometimes cause slight peeling, leaving colored flakes. 3. Color I received all six colors through The Hwahae Testers program. At first glance, I thought the colors might be too intense for bare-faced or light makeup looks. However, when applied, the colors are sheer, allowing your natural lip color to show through. They don't layer up too intensely even with multiple applications, making them quite wearable. With my naturally darker lips, the lighter shades barely showed up, while darker ones looked a bit muddy on bare skin. The official swatches are impossible to achieve without completely covering your natural lip color. With just sunscreen on, the colors showed up decently. RD02 is a slightly muted, very slightly warm-leaning, but overall clear red. It's a red with slightly lowered brightness that should suit most skin tones. If only my complexion was more even without redness! I'd love to just swipe this on bare skin. (Other colors) - PK01: Almost transparent with a hint of pink stain (the only one that stains) - PK02: Muted rose pink - CR01: Clear, healthy-looking coral - CR02: Non-deep brick, brown with a hint of orange (my favorite) - RD01: Red with a touch of plum The color range is well-balanced with warm and cool tones, offering various options in terms of saturation and brightness - a plus for a lip balm collection. 1. Ambiguous Usefulness It's a bit... ambiguous? While not bad to use, I can't find a strong reason to recommend it. I mainly use lip balms for dead skin cell management when I don't care about pretty lip looks. But since this has color, I can't wear it to sleep. So you'd still need a separate clear lip balm. For a sheer, moisturized lip look, couldn't you just layer a bit of your favorite lipstick or tint over a clear balm? (That's what I've always done.) The way it interacts with natural lip color can be tricky too. If you're going to use concealer or foundation to neutralize your lip color anyway, why not just use a more pigmented product? Considering all this, I question whether such a wide color range is really necessary. 2. Value for Money... for A'PIEU I thought I might not be the target audience for tinted lip balms, so I was going to rate it higher given it does its job well for what it is. But then I checked the price - 9000 won - and realized I definitely wouldn't buy it at this price. I gave it three stars because I do reach for it sometimes, but for the shades I don't use often, I'd rate even lower. (Not exactly a pro tip, but consider buying if...) It's convenient for quick application and feels comfortable on the lips. Those who prefer natural looks over heavy makeup might enjoy it for adding a hint of color or a light accent to the lips. It could be good for students who want something easy and comfortable to use. Especially if you have pale lips and feel you look sickly bare-faced, you might find this most useful. (Mask-wearing) I'll probably use it often since I'm not going out much and often skip makeup due to masks. Note that since it sits moistly on the lips, it will transfer if it touches the mask. However, given most mask structures, it doesn't often touch the lips, and even if it transfers a bit, the sheer color isn't very noticeable. - nl*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedSep 3, 2020
1. Lip Balm Functionality When it comes to the lip balm's primary function, which is maintaining moisture, I'd say it performs decently. It keeps your lips reasonably hydrated before even considering the color payoff. 2. Color The color payoff on the lips isn't as vibrant as it appears in the product itself. Being a lip balm, it doesn't stain, which is probably to maintain its moisturizing properties. Personally, I prefer the lack of staining. 3. Transfer With constant mask-wearing these days, and sometimes reusing masks, this has become an important factor for me. It does leave a clear mark when drinking from a cup. However, it doesn't transfer as much onto filter masks as it does on paper cups. On structured masks that sit away from your mouth, it doesn't transfer unless you pull the mask down below your nose. With dental masks that inevitably brush against your lips, there is some transfer, but the inside of the mask seems to absorb some of the balm's moisture. If the color on the paper cup represents the product's true shade, the color on the mask appears more watered down. (I don't have photos to show as the mask gets a bit fuzzy and visually unhygienic!) 4. Product Packaging The case looks like plastic, similar to other lip balms, but... ... it makes a hollow tin sound! I was startled when it rolled off my desk or moved around in my makeup bag. The empty sound made me worry that the lip balm inside had shattered. I'm trying to think that they invested more in the product itself and less in the packaging.
