Benton / Snail Bee Ultimate Eye Cream Here's my review as a Hwahae Tester. As we approach early winter, I've been worried about my increasingly dry skin. During my teens, I had oily but acne-free skin, which was quite good. However, after studying abroad since high school in an area with hard water, my skin became severely dehydrated by my mid-twenties. (Now I'm stuck in Korea due to COVID..) But as always, life only gives us challenges we can overcome. I've been combating this deep dryness with a combination of Physiogel moisturizer and jojoba oil. However, the jojoba oil felt a bit irritating around my eyes, so I was looking for an eye cream for that delicate area. Luckily, I was selected to try the Benton / Snail Bee Ultimate Eye Cream as a Hwahae Tester! (This review is based on about 10 days of use since receiving the product!) When I first received it, the outer box was completely soaked from rain. Fortunately, the inner packaging was well-done, and although the product box was damp, the product itself was fine. I just disinfected the exterior with alcohol. I appreciated the shock-absorbing protective wrapping. My first impression upon opening the box was how luxurious the packaging looked. The brown container with a gold lid made it appear like a very expensive cosmetic product. The silver seal also reassured me about hygiene. The narrow tube format makes it easy to use and hygienic. The texture is a rich cream, which made me think it would properly fulfill its role as an eye cream. For the first few days, I used it alone around my eyes. While it didn't feel dry compared to my usual routine of just toner and moisturizer, I felt like the skin around my eyes lost some radiance. So for the next week, I applied it after my toner and cream. There was no eye irritation at all, and looking at the ingredients, it seems to be made of good components, so I wasn't worried about blemishes! Some creams feel heavy when applied, but this product doesn't at all. It feels like it's replenishing moisture! I think the price is also very competitive compared to other eye creams, considering the ingredients and quantity. I would definitely repurchase! With the added snail mucin, the texture is rich and hydrating, with no irritation around the eyes, and the price is reasonable. I think I could settle on this product for my eye cream :) Thank you, Benton and Hwahae!
If I had to point out a drawback, it might be that it's not enough when used alone around the eyes? Of course, this may vary depending on skin type, but for my combination dehydrated skin, it felt insufficient. However, like most eye creams, it's meant to be applied after your basic skincare routine :) I wanted to keep my step of mixing jojoba oil with toner, so I tried using this alone around my eyes, but it wasn't enough. Now I'm just adding an extra layer of jojoba oil mixed with moisturizer, avoiding the eye area.
I don't have any major tips to share, but if I had to suggest something, I find that after hydrating the skin around my eyes with toner and the Benton eye cream, applying Physiogel, which has some oil content, seems to create a good balance of oil and moisture!
