I've been really satisfied with both the Hera Black Cushion and Mist Cushion, so I was incredibly curious when I heard about the Black Foundation. Luckily, I was selected for The Hwahae Testers program, so here's my review after using it for two weeks. My skin type is combination, with a tendency to sweat a lot on my face, and my mouth area is quite dry. <Positive Points> ♡ It feels more hydrating and firmer than the Black Cushion, making it suitable even for dry skin types. While similar to the Black Cushion, there's a difference in how it applies. It's clearly powdery but less matte than the Black Cushion, finishing with a semi-matte look. I love that it doesn't feel dry even after applying powder and fixer. ♡ I first tried the Black Foundation when my skin was covered in small blemishes. While it didn't provide perfect coverage, it made my skin look incredibly smooth. The skin finish right after application is truly artistic! Even with a thin layer applied with a brush, it provides medium to high coverage. ♡ The color is muted like the Black Cushion, making the 21 shade quite neutral. It doesn't look dark or ashy, and thanks to its powdery finish, it's bright yet natural - very satisfying. They've done a great job with the color range to suit various preferences. ♡ What I loved most was the pore coverage! It's like magic - my pores disappeared. I highly recommend this for anyone struggling with visible pores. It creates a really smooth skin finish. ♡ The staying power is great too. After 12 hours, there was some oiliness in the T-zone, but no areas where the makeup had worn off. Around the nose, it had faded prettily, blending well with the natural oils. ♡ Lastly, the convenient tube packaging. While it's a bit sad to see product stuck around the opening, that's unavoidable. It's as easy to carry around as a cushion when you're out.
☆ Sigh... everything's great, but it does settle into my wrinkles a bit. It's less noticeable than with the Black Cushion, but it still slightly settles into my eye wrinkles, smile lines, and mouth wrinkles. My wrinkles are quite fine, so using a primer might help. ☆ This didn't bother me, but it's worth noting: The Black Foundation doesn't apply very thinly, even with a brush. It's not thick, but it's not sheer or transparent either. I think the powdery, firm texture with a slight thickness and high coverage is the Black Foundation's strong point. The pore coverage and skin finish are excellent, so if the wrinkle issue could be solved, I'd definitely consider purchasing. It's suitable for all seasons and gives a polished look, making it perfect for days when you need to make a clean impression.
I recommend using a brush rather than a puff or sponge. I used a flat brush, but I think a dense brush would work well too. Applying with a brush settles less into wrinkles and gives a lightweight, smooth finish. It's also better for layering compared to a sponge. However, a sponge provides slightly better coverage.
