As a member of The Hwahae Testers, I'm writing this review after winning the product. In a nutshell, I'd describe it as a 'moisturizing body wash with a subtle soap scent'. ● Hydration: The moisturizing power is better compared to other body washes. However, because of this, when the lather rinses off, it leaves a slightly slippery feeling rather than a squeaky-clean sensation. Keep this in mind. ● Fragrance: The scent might be hard to pinpoint, but it's probably what you'd imagine when thinking of soap. When lathering, the fragrance is quite strong and fresh, which raised my expectations. However, after rinsing, the scent doesn't linger as much as I thought. It has a subtle fragrance. (The scent is the same as the company's hand cream, which you can easily sample at Olive Young, so it might be good to stop by and check the tester before purchasing.) ● Volume: At 500ml, it's neither too little nor too much. When you actually receive it, the container might look smaller than you'd expect for 500ml. This might make it more convenient for carrying or storing. ● Ingredients: I think these might be the best ingredients you could extract for a body wash. Fragrance is unavoidable, and the potential allergens are also found in skincare products, so I think they've made it quite safe and gentle.
Compared to my expectations before using this body wash, there's only one thing that disappointed me. The fragrance doesn't last. 😢 Up until lathering, the rich and fragrant scent of Sopi Sopi (hand cream) was really promising, but after actual use, the scent barely remains. After about 2 hours, you can't tell which body wash was used. This is really disappointing. I wonder if it's because the distinctive Sopi Sopi scent might feel overwhelming if it were stronger? This is the only disappointment I can think of.
If you're curious about this product's scent, go to Olive Young and head to the hand cream section. You'll find The Deph and Doft Sopi Sopi hand cream there. (The outer packaging is identical to the body wash.) Apply the hand cream, let it absorb, and then smell it - it's almost identical. Just imagine this scent being a bit fresher and more subtle.
