I've been living with all sorts of blemishes due to seborrheic dermatitis for over 15 years. The burning sensation, sticky dandruff, and scalp odor - it's been a nightmare. The itchiness made me constantly scratch my scalp without even realizing it. If I skipped shampooing for just one day, my hair would fall out in clumps. For a long time, I only used shampoos with the strongest cleansing power. I alternated between the harshest types for seborrheic dermatitis and hair thinning in the anti-hair loss line. While I always used organic or vegan products with strictly vetted ingredients for my face, I couldn't do the same for my shampoo. I tried natural products, but they only worsened my overall scalp condition, and I ended up tearfully returning to my previous products. I knew that the pores on the scalp absorb products better than the skin. I'd even heard, though I couldn't verify it, that the uteruses of older women are full of foam. I didn't know about other things, but I'd heard that modern women often develop teratomas. Looking up images of that made me shudder, but I felt I had no choice. I didn't have high expectations for Vivaphrus, as it has gentle ingredients. If it didn't work, I planned to pass it on to my husband, as I always do with products that don't work for me. In my case, if a shampoo doesn't lather, I'm not sure if it's cleaning properly, and I don't feel inclined to use it. But I also dislike the large, excessive bubbles of commercial products. Vivaphrus creates a lather that's, how should I put it, fine and dense? It's not thick but light, giving a pleasant feel when using it. The scent and texture are very similar to Avalon Organics' Biotin Shampoo. My scent-sensitive husband has been stubbornly using that product for years, so I've tried it too. It has a mild herbal scent. Of course, it made my hair greasy immediately. I expected Vivaphrus to have a sticky or masculine scent due to its dark, powerful packaging aimed at men, but the scent is so mild that shampooing feels like aromatherapy. I had given up on having nice hair texture due to my scalp issues, but after using Vivaphrus, my hair is no longer stiff. And as I have thin hair, I like that it adds some volume to my scalp. The number of hairs falling out when I dry my hair has decreased. I used to constantly check for loose hairs on my upper body, but now I only need to check when I take off my clothes once during the day and once at night. Could it be due to the antiseptic effect of Dead Sea salt? Until I develop a tolerance, I see no reason not to use Vivaphrus. Even my picky husband has switched from the Avalon product to this one. Towards the end of the day, my scalp does get a bit itchy and slightly sticky. Considering that it used to get bad from midday, this is a delayed onset of symptoms. The same goes for the odor issue. It's much less noticeable, to the point where I hardly need to worry about it. It's manageable since I can just wash it at night, so using a gentle product with just this much effect is good enough for me.
