If you, like me, tend to get a bit heavy-handed, and experience makeup slippage, I'd recommend boldly skipping the toner and emulsion/lotion steps after cleansing, and going straight from essence to cream - that worked well for me.

Since I thought it spreads and absorbs well, if I use a bit more, the cream-type formula can definitely cause makeup slippage.
(However, if you're not in a rush in the morning like me, this wouldn't be a downside.)
