I recently tried the Milk Touch Marshmallow Foundation that's been getting some buzz lately. I usually use shade 23 for foundations and cushions, so I went with that for this one too. It's so cute and compact, fits right in your hand!
Color (★★★★★):
I have a cool undertone and typically use Clio Kill Cover Foundation in shade 23. Compared to Clio, this one has a slightly grayish and darker tone, which made me worry I'd ordered the wrong shade. But when I applied it, I was surprised by how bright it looked! If I'd gone with 21, it might have been too light. So glad I chose the right color! The finish on my face was actually brighter than when I swatched it on my arm. Very satisfying!
Scent (★★★★★):
Personally, I love the fragrance! It's not overpowering, just a subtle, pleasant aroma. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I wish I could add this scent to everything. If only all cosmetics had this as their base fragrance, I'd be in heaven!
Texture (★★★☆☆):
Again, comparing to Clio... This one feels more dewy and thick, almost like a BB cream. It blends in surprisingly well when applied with a cushion puff. However, when you layer it, it definitely feels more oily and doesn't absorb as well. It's really closer to a BB cream than a foundation!
I'm giving it extra points for how well it absorbs, but I prefer a more fluid consistency. At first, I thought it had a slightly matte finish which I liked, but it turned out to be quite oily, which was a bit disappointing. If you prefer matte finishes like me, you'll definitely need to use powder with this.
On the plus side, it's less dewy than a BB cream but more hydrating than a completely fluid foundation. How it works probably depends on your skincare routine. I'm used to more fluid products, so my base might be too oily for this.
Skin texture enhancement (★★★★★) / Coverage (★★★☆☆) / Longevity (★★★★☆):
The skin texture enhancement is amazing! It's on par with my favorite 21 brand! If it weren't for the blemishes, I'd want to use this every day. It makes your skin look so natural and smooth! I can't praise this aspect enough, it's so beautiful!
However, the flip side of this natural look is the coverage... To be honest, the coverage was a bit disappointing. Acne scars... Unless you apply 2-3 thin layers, it's hard to get perfect coverage despite the lovely skin texture it creates.
But even after 9.5 hours under a heater, it didn't break down badly! On days when I did my skincare well, it even looked pretty as it wore off!
In these mask-wearing times, it would be a lie to say it doesn't transfer at all, but it transfers less than others, which was a pleasant surprise. My mask was mostly white instead of beige!
I'm picky about makeup removal and switch between different products depending on my mood and the day. This one might become a regular in my rotation. I'll probably use it often on days when my skin looks good but I'm tired. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with this foundation. Thank you!
