As someone with an extremely oily scalp, I usually wash my hair every other day, even in winter. My scalp gets greasy and I start losing hair just after a day. This makes choosing the right shampoo challenging, so I'm always on the hunt for the perfect one. First off, the texture is a translucent mustard-colored gel, not too runny, which makes it easy to use. The scent is subtle and natural, reminiscent of nature without being overwhelming. As an aromatherapy fan, I find it a pleasant, healthy fragrance. The bottle has a flip-top, which is fine for this size. While a pump would be nice for a larger size, given the steep price for this small amount, I can't complain about the packaging. When I wash my hair daily, it lathers up nicely. However, when washing every other day, I need to shampoo twice to get enough foam. The cleansing effectiveness is excellent. When used daily, my scalp feels refreshed, and it doesn't get too oily by evening. I usually lose so much hair that it clogs the drain, but with this product, I noticed significantly less hair fall. Comparing the first, second, and third days of use, and even with my previous shampoos, there's a clear reduction in hair loss during washing.
When used daily, my scalp became a bit sensitive. I noticed some tenderness when brushing my scalp. Also, the price is quite steep for the amount you get. Looking at the ingredients, like other Aveda products, it contains many natural aromas, which means a higher number of potential allergens. While this is understandable for an Aveda product, I'm a bit disappointed by the inclusion of certain preservatives and other potentially harmful ingredients. I wonder why they needed to add those.
Aveda Invati seems to make the scalp sensitive if used daily. I'd recommend alternating it with another shampoo. It might be a good option for those with oily scalps and hair loss issues.
