To be honest, apart from the initial excitement of trying a product from the renowned Aveda brand, I'm not sure what to say. The cleansing effectiveness wasn't noticeably better or worse than my usual shampoo, and I couldn't really tell a significant difference in how it lathers. Perhaps I'm not discerning enough. Unfortunately, I can't think of any particular advantages to highlight.
1. Scent: It's hard to describe, but it was quite strong. Not a fragrance I'd want lingering in my hair. After washing and drying, it was okay, but before that, the scent was so overpowering that I thought an unscented version would be better. It's a bit like ginger? It's puzzling. Anyway, all three people who used it with me strongly disliked the fragrance. 2. Causes blemishes and itching: I have an oily scalp but it's not particularly sensitive. I've never experienced side effects from any shampoo before, but this one immediately made my scalp itchy and later caused two blemish-like spots. It wasn't extremely painful or a severe reaction, but it was disappointing. I'm not an expert on ingredients, so I can't say for certain it was the cause, but I noticed two ingredients that might be problematic for those with sensitive skin. Please check carefully before using. For reference, when I switched back to my regular shampoo, the blemishes subsided and the itching significantly improved. To ensure an accurate review, I tried the Aveda shampoo again, and the blemishes and itching returned. I'm hesitant to repurchase something that might not suit me. 3. Minimal effects: It's supposed to prevent hair loss and improve hair texture, but I'm still using my first bottle and haven't used it for long, so I can't really tell. These days, there are many domestic alternatives with better ingredients and lower prices, so I'm not sure it's worth the cost. Hair loss prevention products typically require consistent use to see dramatic effects, and I can't justify continually spending 38,000 won for 200ml. From this perspective, it doesn't seem cost-effective. *Based on my experience, I'd like to give it 1 star, but considering that one bottle isn't enough to determine its effectiveness, especially for hair loss prevention and strengthening hair roots, which require longer, consistent use, I'm giving it 2 stars. This takes into account that it might be effective, but I couldn't finish even the 200ml bottle before writing this review.
I experienced side effects like blemishes and itching with continuous use, so I don't think it's suitable for daily use. It's just a guess, but being a functional shampoo for hair loss prevention, the ingredients might be a bit irritating for some people. I found I could use it without the discomfort mentioned above by alternating it with my regular shampoo. If you have sensitive skin and still want to try this, this might be a way to use it.
