As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I heard that ceramides are absolutely fantastic for strengthening the skin barrier (check out Liah Yoo's YouTube videos!). My skin barrier had become so weak, and the dead skin cells were out of control! (I couldn't even exfoliate because it wasn't just dead skin buildup, but extreme dryness.) I didn't have any blemishes, but I was dealing with dryness, flaking, patchiness, and more... I once tried Dr. Jart's Ceramidin Cream, and it really helped calm down the flakiness.
After that, I went on a hunt for products with ceramides and naturally thought Sidmool would have something. Lo and behold, they did! I bought it immediately and started using it. The very next day when I applied my makeup, there was absolutely zero patchiness - it had all disappeared! I was so moved... You could visibly see how much stronger my skin barrier had become. It was amazing. I'm on my second bottle now, and I think I'll be using this forever!
The downside? It doesn't absorb quickly and feels a bit heavy and sticky. However, once it's fully absorbed, there's no stickiness at all. I actually loved this because previously, I'd slather on various products to combat dryness and end up going to bed with a sticky face, which was so uncomfortable.
The real dealbreaker though is the small amount you get... 60ml is not much for the price. Sigh. But the ingredients are so good and the effects are so amazing that I can't break free from this product!
Ceramides are great for strengthening the skin barrier! That's the gist of it. I just cleanse my face and apply this before bed - it's so simple and absolutely wonderful.
