1. Gives a refreshing, slightly cooling sensation. Great for soothing the skin. 2. Quite effective for blemishes. When used at night, you'll notice a reduction in skin issues by morning. 1. The toner tends to leak, possibly due to packaging issues. 2. The texture is a bit thick, making it challenging to adhere well to the skin. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 1, 2023
First off, I liked that it doesn't have any strange scents and provides a nice cooling effect on the skin. It doesn't adhere well to the skin and tends to slide off a bit, so I'm not sure about its effectiveness in soothing blemishes. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinOct 22, 2023
The amount of essence is the most generous I've seen in any toner pad I've tried. The size is perfect for applying to the skin. The pads don't adhere to the skin as well as I'd like. The built-in tweezers keep falling off the lid instead of staying securely attached. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 14, 2023
These pads were exactly what I was looking for - hydrating without being sticky! They were great for reducing redness and cooling down my skin before applying makeup. Perfect for replenishing moisture and providing a refreshing sensation when applied. Unfortunately, the pads didn't adhere to my skin as well as I expected based on their appearance. For those with sensitive skin, I recommend gently patting the product in instead of wiping it off. Just apply the pad and lightly tap to help absorption. Keep in mind that the texture of the pads is slightly rough. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMar 4, 2023
Compared to other houttuynia cordata essences, Goodal's version feels more deeply hydrating. While the texture is watery, it leaves a comforting, moisture-locking finish that I really enjoy. I love that the pads seem to be soaked in the exact same essence. There's so much essence in the bottle that you'll likely need to buy refill pads separately! The pads are a bit thick, which slightly reduces how well they adhere to the skin. However, this drawback is offset by how long-lasting the hydration is. I've been buying the separate cotton pads sold at Olive Young to refill and use with this essence. There's just so much essence in the bottle... - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinAug 29, 2022
I initially bought this for use after derma treatments, so I'm not sure about its overall effectiveness. However, it doesn't adhere well to the skin, which is inconvenient. While there's plenty of essence, it dries out quickly. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 5, 2022
It's not sticky and contains a generous amount of essence. When I use this to prep my skin, my makeup definitely seems to apply better. It feels like it's smoothing out dead skin cells. The adherence to the skin seems a bit lacking. The pad itself feels like it dries out quickly? - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMar 27, 2022
First off, I have oily skin that lacks hydration. I generally prefer water-based toners and frequently use toner packs. Due to prolonged mask-wearing, I've developed some minor blemishes, so I bought this for a quick soothing pack. The pads have different textures on each side - one side is soft, while the other helps with dead skin cell removal. My skin didn't have many blemishes to begin with, so I can't say they've noticeably decreased, but it seems they're not appearing as often. When used before makeup, it seems to help the makeup adhere better. Being a water-based toner, it doesn't leave a sticky feeling after use. Plus, I love that it comes with a generous amount of toner. The pads aren't particularly thin, so they don't adhere perfectly to the face. I bought this product without high expectations, so I don't have many complaints. It might be helpful for those who find houttuynia cordata extract suitable for their skin and are looking for a water-based toner formula or a simple hydrating and soothing toner pack. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 9, 2022
I can feel my skin improving on its own. I use these toner pads in two ways - as a quick toner and as a soothing mask. My skin definitely feels softer compared to before. There's no tight feeling, and when I pat it in after use, it seems to absorb quickly. I've been using this for three bottles, but when I won The Hwahae Testers and tried a different toner pad, my skin condition immediately worsened. I need to go back to using this to restore my skin! The packaging has a natural vibe, giving off an 'I came from nature' energy, which I really love - that's another plus! The herbal scent from the product is also really nice, though some might not like it. For those who use toner pads and enjoy herbal scents, I absolutely recommend trying this. It's a product I highly endorse. Although it's a 70-pad product, it gets used up faster than you'd think. Even with daily use, it's gentle enough for morning and night application, so you can use it up quickly without worrying about contamination. The pads are round and a bit wide, so when you place them on your face, the edges lift slightly. I thought they would adhere well because they're thin, but that's not the case. When using, two pads come out at once instead of just one. The price is a bit steep for me. Other than that, there's not much else to say. If you like herbal scents, it might be worth trying. If two pads come out, just place one on each cheek! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJul 27, 2021
I've been using the houttuynia cordata essence mainly as a toner pack, but I'm thrilled that it now comes in pad form. The pads are double-sided like other products, making them great for both exfoliating dead skin cells and evening out skin texture. The essence is perfectly saturated, so it doesn't drip excessively. I'm really satisfied using these - when I apply them to my flushed cheeks, they provide a cooling, soothing effect while also delivering hydration. The pads are slightly lacking in flexibility, so instead of being able to apply multiple pads in a row, I can only stick one at a time on my cheeks. They tend to fall off easily when I'm drying my hair, so the adhesion when used alone is a bit disappointing.
