I'm a dry skin type who gets along well with shea butter! Two years ago, when my skin barrier was damaged and I was suffering from severe dryness but also had too much oil, I worked part-time at The Face Shop and bought a package of The Therapy products to use. It was a product that effectively addressed the dryness. However, as my face was quite oily, I only used it at night. Now it's too rich for me, so I'm not using it anymore.

It's great for improving dry skin. Since it has a nourishing feel, it seems to improve the skin quickly when it's dull or recovering slowly, so it seems like a good cosmetic to use from the seasonal change period. I'm using it satisfactorily as it absorbs well into the skin when gently massaged and patted.

However, if used in slightly warmer weather, my combination skin tends to become quite oily, making it difficult to use. But it seems like it will be great to use from late August through the entire winter and even into spring. This isn't really a downside, though.

When the regular sale season came, I went in to buy body wash and ended up getting a great deal at 30% off! I had only used the Mieum line from The Face Shop before, and I thought the packaging was really pretty. When I tried it, it felt moisturizing and had a good amount of oil, which I thought would be perfect for my dry skin, so I decided to buy the serum as well. The emulsion doesn't feel much different from others - it has a nice, moderate creamy texture that spreads smoothly without feeling heavy or too light. My first impression of The Face Shop's basic line was that it's all pretty decent. The absorption was also good - it sank in within a reasonable time. There was another similar white bottle line, but this one felt more moisturizing and oily, which I think would be better for use in dry spring and winter. It absorbed completely without any greasy residue, leaving just a hint of moisture. Since I used this product in the winter, I can say it has very satisfactory moisturizing power for that season. I think it would be great for extremely dry or dry-skinned people, either for use before makeup or before bed.
