I tried it with my sister, and it's generous in quantity and removes makeup well. I gently massaged it for about 3 minutes and then rinsed it off with water! It's incredibly lightweight. Physically light, so I used it well when traveling, and the product itself feels very light and easy to remove. There was a built-in spoon, which was surprisingly really nice. Unlike other balm-type products, you don't have to scoop the product out with your nails.
ConsThe scent is quite typical, but it might be hit or miss for those with sensitive skin. As I frequently use mascara, I recommend using a lip and eye remover for mascara and this product for other makeup removal.
TipI always cleanse for about 3 minutes while watching a video or listening to music! Although this product removes well, I'm not always thorough, so I followed up with a cleansing foam afterward.

It removes foundation, eyebrow makeup, and lipstick effectively. Hydration: The finish feels moisturizing. I don't like that squeaky-clean feeling after cleansing, and this leaves my skin feeling truly hydrated. Repurchase intention: 100%. It's surprisingly great, removes blackheads and whiteheads well, and causes minimal irritation.
ConsThis is my first time using a cleansing balm, and I'm a bit concerned that the balm might harden over time. It doesn't cause any blemishes, and I'd like to repurchase it. I haven't really found any drawbacks yet!
TipIt seems like the cleansing balm works even better at removing whiteheads if you use it right after taking off your mask when you get home!

Even though my skin became very sensitive and prone to breakouts after having a baby, this felt gentle and hydrating! I rarely use balm-type cleansers, but this one spread smoothly without feeling abrasive! After applying it well on my face and wiping off with lukewarm water, it rinsed away cleanly. The subtle citrusy scent was also lovely. Above all, I really enjoyed how my skin felt moisturized without any tightness after cleansing!
ConsBeing new to balm-type cleansers, I found it a bit challenging to control the amount to use. Since you need to scoop it out, I often found myself touching my face with both hands, then realizing I needed more. Having to clean, dry, and store the scooping tool was also a bit inconvenient.

When followed up with a cleansing foam, it seems to provide a thorough cleanse. As someone with super sensitive skin, I didn't experience any tingling sensation while using this product!
ConsThere's not really anything negative to point out, but if I had to choose something, maybe the cleansing effectiveness? However, since I don't wear heavy makeup, it removes my cushion foundation and eyeshadow well enough, so I'm satisfied! It definitely doesn't seem to remove mascara completely though.
TipI usually remove my eye makeup separately first, then use this product to remove the rest of my makeup. After that, I follow up with a cleansing foam, which seems to leave my skin thoroughly cleansed!

While I don't have major blemishes, I often get small bumps and always need to wear makeup. This means I have to be extra careful with cleansing. If I slack off even a little, my skin texture immediately deteriorates and those pesky bumps appear. The Hwahae Testers, let me tell you - the cleansing effectiveness of this product is truly impressive! I've been using a popular M*** cleansing oil without any issues, and it cleanses well. However, after using this cleansing balm, I definitely felt a more thorough clean. Despite being a balm, it didn't feel heavy at all. The emulsification process when it meets water works wonderfully, leaving me feeling refreshed even without a second cleanse.
ConsIf I had to point out a downside, it would be that since it's a balm, it doesn't completely melt with body heat and requires a bit more massaging. But that's necessary for effective cleansing, so I can't really call it a drawback!

First off, this is my first time using a cleansing balm. The texture melts smoothly on the face, transforming into something akin to an oil cleanser. I massage it thoroughly, then add a bit of lukewarm water for a second cleanse before rinsing off. Compared to cleansing oils, it left my skin feeling even smoother. The color is a very light, almost colorless pale green, and the subtle fragrance made for a more pleasant experience. The biggest advantage is that even days after cleansing, I didn't experience any blemishes or deep dryness. I really like this product, and even though I received it as a tester, I plan to use the entire jar! Highly recommended!
ConsYou do need to follow up with a mild acidic foam cleanser for a double cleanse.
TipWhen cleansing, make sure to massage thoroughly for a bit longer. Also, rinse off completely with lukewarm water. I followed up with a gentle cleanse using Gai'do Super Wash, a mild acidic foam cleanser with only naturally-derived surfactants, and they worked perfectly together.

As someone who personally loves citrus fragrances, this is my favorite scent among all the cleansing balms I've tried so far. - Being a balm type, it retains the cleansing power (and sebum removal) of oils while eliminating the drawback of runniness. The texture itself is so gentle that I don't feel any irritation from the rolling stage to rinsing off. - It comes with a built-in cap and spatula inside the lid, allowing for hygienic use. However, the spatula is small, so using it twice is just right for an adequate amount. - The cleansing effectiveness is excellent. It removes even multi-layered base makeup well. However, for eye makeup, I recommend using a separate remover due to the color residue between mascara and lashes. I didn't have high expectations as it was my first time trying this brand, but it turned out better than I thought. - Using too little product may reduce its effectiveness, but using an appropriate amount and massaging it in circular motions with your fingers can even remove some sebum. - The finish is moisturizing, making it a great balm formula for dry skin types. It's also suitable for combination skin, though those with oily skin might find it a bit heavy.
Cons- Perhaps due to the cold weather, the formula sometimes clumps and doesn't melt easily even when rubbed between palms. In this aspect, I felt the texture was similar to the Banila Co cleansing balm. - When rinsed off with water, it doesn't wash away cleanly and leaves a slippery feeling on the skin. Even though I always do a second cleanse regardless, this might not be a big issue for those who double cleanse. However, if you prefer a squeaky-clean finish, you might not like its uniquely moisturizing and smooth after-feel. - Considering it's a product I use almost daily, the regular price (28,000 won) feels a bit burdensome.

After using this product daily since receiving it, I haven't experienced any blemishes or side effects, which confirms it's definitely a gentle cleansing product! 1. For my daily routine, I typically wear basic skincare, sunscreen, CC/BB cream, eyeshadow, and eyeliner. This cleanser removes all makeup residue thoroughly. 2. The scent doesn't feel artificial, so it's not off-putting when using. 3. While it's a solid balm on the spatula, it melts smoothly when massaged onto the face, preventing any irritation!
ConsAfter using the Hwahae Cleansing Balm, I feel like a second cleanse is always necessary. While it removes makeup effectively, it leaves a slightly slippery feeling on the skin. Also, it doesn't completely remove lip stains or tints that tend to leave color behind. For those who wear heavy makeup, using a separate lip and eye makeup remover seems essential!

The Hwahae Testers' highlights: - Cleansing effectiveness: As shown in the photo, it completely removed tint, lipstick, eyeliner, eyebrow product, and even glitter! - Scent: Despite being a coconut balm, it has a unique, subtle fragrance that even those who dislike coconut scents might enjoy. - Texture: It transforms from solid to oil upon contact with skin, allowing for a gentle cleansing experience. - Packaging: The double-lid container keeps it clean and hygienic. The included spatula is convenient for application without using fingers. - Skin-friendly: This pure cleansing balm is suitable for those with blemish-prone skin. As someone with sensitive, acne-prone skin, I found it non-irritating and effective. - Hydration: After double cleansing with this balm followed by a foam cleanser, my skin felt moisturized without any tightness. I received this product as part of The Hwahae Testers program, but I'll definitely repurchase it once I finish this one!
ConsThere aren't many downsides, but despite the double lid, water might still get in since it's a single container. Also, while it removed most makeup easily, it didn't seem to clean mascara as effectively as other cosmetics, which was a bit disappointing. Other than these two points, I'm completely satisfied!
TipFor best results and to prevent blemishes, I recommend following up the cleansing balm with a foaming cleanser, working up a rich lather for your second cleanse!

Continue massaging briefly before rinsing off. - Product texture: This balm-type cleanser addresses the issue of runniness common in cleansing oils. It's easy to control the amount and use neatly. It transforms into a smooth oil upon contact with your face! Despite being free of surfactants, it emulsifies wonderfully. - Cleansing effectiveness: (From left to right) Eyeshadow > Lipstick > Tint > Foundation > Concealer > Eyebrow > Gel eyeliner > Pen eyeliner > Mascara It removed everything cleanly except for long-lasting tint (Me*beline Superstay) and pen liner (Cat*dy). - After-feel: I loved how it left my skin feeling moisturized. - No irritation: With 70% plant-derived ingredients, I didn't experience any blemishes after use. The coconut oil in this product suits my skin well. - Scent: The subtle citrus fragrance during massage is a mood-lifter! - Value for money: It's currently on sale on the official website - 100ml for 14,000 won! I use about a thumbnail-sized amount each time, so I find it quite economical.
Cons- Cleansing effectiveness: While it's quite effective, you might want to use a separate lip and eye makeup remover for long-lasting lip and eye products. - Oil-based / Plant-derived ingredients: The oil content might be a bit heavy for those with oily skin. Also, some plant-derived ingredients might not suit everyone's skin, so be sure to check the full ingredients list! - Blackheads / Whiteheads: It doesn't seem to remove blackheads and whiteheads effectively.
TipI prefer to buy rinse-off products from clean beauty brands. This product not only has gentle ingredients, but I was also impressed by the clean beauty brand's thoughtful packaging design!
