I have thick hair, combination to dry scalp, and graying hair. I've been using a shampoo bar. Scent: It has an herbal aroma with a moderate to strong menthol kick. Texture: Liquid type Review: While I've used shampoo, this is my first time trying a scalp care tonic. The herbal scent hits you right away, and thanks to the menthol, it feels incredibly refreshing when sprayed on the scalp. I use a shampoo bar, and sometimes after washing and drying, my scalp feels a bit dry and itchy. But when I spray this on, the itchiness disappears, and it feels so invigorating. It's meant for scalp care, but since I don't have any particular scalp issues, I can't say I've noticed any problems being solved or improvements made. However, I love the refreshed feeling it gives my scalp, so I keep using it. It's been a pleasant and easy-to-use product overall! Be careful when spraying it on your scalp - if it runs down onto your forehead, the menthol can cause a burning sensation. It's best to tilt your head back slightly when applying. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 28, 2022
For times like these, Botanic Sense's Deep Rooted Scalp Tonic is the absolute answer! It's a spray-on mist type with a generous 150ml volume. While others typically offer 50ml or 100ml, this one's a real value for money - kudos for that! After washing and drying your hair, start spraying right away. With its menthol ingredient and a refreshing lemon-like scent, it's a water-based formula. Just spritz it on and massage it in like you're getting a shot and rubbing your behind - that's all there is to it! I thought it might be my imagination, but when I watched the video again, I could actually see the volume increase in the areas where I sprayed and massaged. I had to double-check a few times - it's amazing! The only downside is that being water-based, it can run down towards your forehead and eyes, which can be a bit startling. I found that if you massage it in right after spraying, it works out fine. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 30, 2021
1. Cooling sensation When sprayed on the scalp and massaged in, it gives a refreshing feeling that I love!! Thanks to that sensation, I was able to keep using it consistently! 2. Spray application You're supposed to shake it about 10 times before use, and the spray nozzle is well-designed so it doesn't disperse too widely when sprayed!! The nozzle looks like the one in the photo below! Plus, it has a cap, making it convenient to carry around for frequent use. 1. Scent Like many others who mentioned the scent as a downside, I found it really disappointing too. When I first sprayed it on my hair, the smell was so... It gave me a headache and was hard to get used to +_+... 2. Watery texture This is more of a personal issue, but since I tend to have some wounds on my scalp, it stung a bit. Also, it has a very watery consistency that quickly runs down, even reaching my face. Oh well... - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 29, 2021
Even when I brush my hair, a lot of hair comes out, and I have to brush it over 10 times for it to stop shedding. When I shower, at least 15 times or more hair comes out, but after using the tonic, the amount of hair loss has completely changed. During and after drying my hair, my hair keeps falling out, and I have to brush it 10 times for it to stop. You can see in the third photo that the amount of hair that comes out is about one out of ten times. But before using this product, it was constantly falling out at that level. After using this product, the difference is noticeable to my eyes. I haven't even used it for a full month yet, but I really want to continue using it going forward. They say the effects are even more visible after a month of use, so I'm looking forward to that. The scent is like a watermelon-green note, and it's refreshing to spray on in this hot weather. And I was worried about it making my hair greasy or oily, but there's absolutely no issue with that, so I definitely want to repurchase once I finish this bottle. I noticed that when I spray the product on the front part of my hair near my forehead, the amount dispensed in one spray is a bit too much and can drip down onto my skin. I think adjusting the amount and targeting the application area more precisely would be helpful. I'll be more mindful of the spray volume and focus the application on the specific areas that need it. Thank you for the feedback, it will help me use the product more effectively. I also have a lot of heat buildup on my scalp, and I think that might be contributing to even more hair loss for me. ㅠㅠ But anyway, I really like how this product feels so cooling when I spray it on. Especially on these hot days, it's so refreshing to use it before going out. I really enjoy that cooling sensation. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 29, 2021
I started using this product because I sweat a lot in summer, which often leaves my scalp feeling uncomfortable. It feels like a very light mist. It has a water-based formula and comes in an easy-to-use spray bottle, making application effortless. When applied to the scalp, it provides a slight cooling effect that feels refreshing. It's especially soothing after coming back from a hot day out and taking a shower - it really helps calm down that heated feeling. I noticed a subtle difference in volume when spraying it before and after drying my hair. Personally, I really like this product because of its calming cooling effect. Since it's a water-based formula, it's important to apply the right amount and let it absorb, as spraying too much can cause it to drip. For those with super sensitive skin, the cooling effect might be a bit irritating, so I'd recommend doing a patch test first. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 28, 2021
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers! Used from July 21 - July 28 / Twice daily after washing hair Hair condition: Fine, limp hair / Slightly wavy, colored 2 months ago I've always been concerned about the lack of volume at the roots due to my thin, lifeless hair! It became even more noticeable after I grew out my bangs and my hair got a bit longer. Root Volume ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Personally, I noticed an improvement in root volume on the 24th, the third day of use! Recently, it's been so hot that I've been air-drying my hair instead of using a blow dryer. Even without paying special attention to the roots, they naturally had more volume. This is what I'm most satisfied with! Cooling Effect ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It feels incredibly refreshing just moments after application! This is truly a summer essential! Even just having a cool scalp makes you feel less hot overall. I sprayed some on my parents too, and they loved how cooling it felt. Reduced Hair Loss ⭐⭐⭐⭐ After using the product, I noticed less hair falling out when brushing or just touching my hair! It's noticeable both when handling my hair and when cleaning my room. I deducted one star because the amount of hair loss during washing still varies, so I'll need to use it more consistently to be certain. Spray Distribution ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I liked that each spray releases just the right amount of product! There weren't really any downsides! Just be careful as it can run if you don't massage it in after spraying. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJul 27, 2021
1. Hairstyle It absorbs quickly, so it dries fast even with regular use. Plus, whether it's from the scalp massage or the product itself, I noticed a boost in volume. 2. Cooling Effect I loved how it quickly cooled my scalp after a brief massage. It's great for summer when your head tends to retain heat, as it seems to lower the temperature. 3. Other Points The consistency is like water with no stickiness, making it easy to apply. The scent might be hit or miss for some people. 1. Hairstyle Inevitably, you have to mess up your hair a bit to apply it directly to the scalp. This might be challenging for those who are particular about their hairstyle during the day. 2. Cooling Effect While it felt cool initially, I've either gotten used to it or the cooling sensation doesn't last as long now. 3. Other Points Be careful when applying - its watery consistency means it can easily drip onto your forehead or neck if you're not careful. The scent might be divisive. To me, it's like an artificial apple scent mixed with pencil or coal. I didn't like it at first, but I've gotten used to it. Interestingly, the scent resurfaces when it comes into contact with water or other products, suggesting it has quite a long-lasting fragrance. For best application, part your hair to expose the scalp, and instead of spraying in one spot, move along your scalp as you spray. This prevents it from forming droplets that quickly run down. If you can control the flow well, you can apply it evenly across your scalp. The head-shaking involved is actually a good neck exercise too! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinJul 25, 2021
As soon as you spray it on your scalp, you feel this amazing cooling effect that's almost like a cooling patch. With the weather being so hot lately, I've been avoiding using my hair dryer. Cool air doesn't dry my hair well, and hot air dries it but it's just too warm. However, after using this product, I found that blow-drying was actually okay - maybe because of the cooling effect on my scalp. One pump gives you plenty of product, so you don't need to use too much. It's easy to apply - just spray and massage it in with your fingertips. It's not greasy at all, and the cooling effect makes it perfect for this heatwave! I can't say I've noticed less hair fall yet, but we'll see. I got a bit of a shock when I sprayed too much at first and it dripped down my face. Use just the right amount and be careful around the crown area as it can run down your forehead. If you spray too much, it goes beyond cooling and feels like you've doused your head in cooling patches. My scalp felt so intensely cool it startled me. The scent is also a bit... like spray? And the price is a bit steep for me.
