I bought this in April when the Soon Jung line was released, as it seemed similar to the Minimum Cleanser I was using. Soon Jung pH 6.5 Whip Cleanser 150ml for $11 1. Gentle ingredients + Mild formula. Except for citric acid, there are no irritating ingredients. The formula is good and the foam is soft, making it gentle. I've been using it without any skin flare-ups or acne. For sensitive skin, avoiding blemishes is the most important thing! It doesn't leave my skin feeling dry after cleansing. Since it's gentle but has mild cleansing power, I use it as my morning cleanser. (I don't consider this a downside, so I won't mention it in the cons. As it's a low pH cleanser, it can feel a bit slippery - if you don't like that sensation, you might want to try a different product!) The Soon Jung line seems gentle overall. I've tried the cleanser and emulsion, and they've all been mild and suitable for my skin. I'm planning to try their popular toner next. 2. Available in regular and easy sizes. It's great that you can start with the smaller 'easy' size (70ml for $7) to test it out, then upgrade to the regular size if it works well for you! ⭐️ (6/29) There's a promotion until today - if you buy the regular Soon Jung size, you get the easy size as a gift. (You can mix and match products.)
1. The Soon Jung foam cleanser is basically the Minimum foam cleanser with added panthenol, green tea extract, and butylene glycol, but I couldn't really tell the difference. While other Soon Jung products seem different from the Minimum line, the foam cleanser feels oddly similar. I wish it had been more distinct. That's why I deducted one star. (For me, it's cheaper to buy from Innisfree, so there's no real need to purchase from Etude. You might want to buy from whichever store works best for you!) 2. The pump is stiff. Also, dirt tends to accumulate around the pump area. I don't think I've touched it with dirty hands, but it gets grimy with use. I'm not sure if it's intentionally designed that way for grip, but it looks dirty. I would have preferred a simpler design without this issue. >Additional note 3. The madecassoside ingredient might irritate some skin types, so make sure to patch test before use! (Please refer to the comments for more info!)
>7.13~16 Soon Jung skincare is half price! (Etude sale) >The Soon Jung Low pH Cleanser is very similar to Innisfree's The Minimum Cleanser (though not exactly the same). Both Etude and Innisfree are part of Amore Pacific, and both Soon Jung and Minimum are manufactured by Cosviton. That's probably why the ingredient lists for the foam cleansers are so similar. (See photo for reference) With similar ingredients, the user experience is also similar. There's a slight difference - both have soft foam, but Soon Jung is a bit more dense. However, with continued use, I found the difference to be minimal. The Minimum Cleanser has a slightly sour scent, while the Soon Jung Low pH Cleanser is fragrance-free. The Soon Jung Cleanser should be used within 10 months after opening, while the Minimum Cleanser within 3 months. If you've used The Minimum Cleanser before, this should work well for you too. However, they're not 100% identical, so choose based on your preference.
