The texture is truly unique - it's like a water-gel tint, very moisturizing, but when first applied there's a slight veil-like feeling on the lips, almost like you've just applied a hydrating primer. At first I thought 'Hmm, is this a bit constricting?' but once it's fully set, there's no heavy feeling at all and it dries down to a soft, weightless, matte finish. This tint doesn't have an ultra-pigmented initial color payoff, but builds up nicely to a richer, more vibrant shade after a few layers. The amount that comes off on the applicator tip is just perfect for one application, so no need to worry about over-applying. Even though there is a tiny bit of transfer, once it's fully set there's hardly any at all, much less than most other tints I've tried.
ConsBeing a more powdery tint, there is a slight dryness that sets in over time. But that's a common downside of matte tints, and if you're someone like me who likes that kind of finish, it's not a major issue. The shades without any white undertones, like Playoff or Spot Player, don't have that milky look. But the ones with a hint of white, like Coral Moon or Pink Guava, can sometimes develop a patchy effect. Especially if you layer it on heavily, you can get a bit of that patchiness not just on the inner lips but also in the center - a quick swipe with a cotton bud can help smooth that out.
TipIf you want to minimize that dryness, I'd recommend first applying a thin layer of a more moisturizing tint, then topping it with this water-based one. Layering something too thick or oily on top makes it hard to reapply. I'd suggest a lightweight, hydrating tint as the base. And with this tint, definitely don't over-apply - just use one swipe per lip. Layering it on too thick can lead to patchiness and bunching in the inner lip area.
