[The Hwahae Testers review] First off, my skin type is sensitive and dry. My skin tends to redden easily with even slight physical irritation or when exposed to sensitive ingredients in essences or ampoules. So when applying for The Hwahae Testers, I carefully checked the ingredients of this sun milk and chose it after seeing that it's gentle enough for babies to use. Ingredients: Extremely gentle My skin immediately turns red and swells up painfully if there's something that doesn't agree with it. So I first applied the sun milk on my chin area, then all over my face, and there was absolutely no irritation. I can never use organic sunscreens, and even with mineral sunscreens, if they're too intense, I get both a white cast and redness. But this one applied smoothly, just like a gentle cream. For someone like me who's always looking for mild products, this aspect alone makes me very likely to repurchase! Application: Feels like a rich emulsion Having dry skin, I prefer sunscreens that apply moistly, and this product tackles both deep and surface dryness. I was very satisfied with how it maintained a rich feel from morning till night. It's closer to rich than moist in texture. If you prefer a powdery finish, you might want to follow up with some powder. There's hardly any white cast. If you're looking for a tone-up effect, it's just barely there - a very slight luminous effect. I'm extremely satisfied with it for daily use without tone-up. Scent: Almost fragrance-free While I'm sensitive to smells, I can tolerate most scents. I recently had to stop using a sun cushion because the smell was unbearably strong inside my mask. But this sunscreen has a slight milk scent when you smell it directly, but once applied to the face, it's fragrance-free! You can use it comfortably even under a mask without any sensitivity. Cleansing: Very easy This seems to be the sun milk's biggest advantage. Other sunscreens required double cleansing, which felt more irritating to my skin. However, I found out this sunscreen is washable and can be removed with just water. I used a gentle, low pH cleansing foam as water alone left slight traces on my eyebrows. The result was completely satisfactory! It cleansed so thoroughly, leaving my skin feeling squeaky clean. Is this even possible with a mineral sunscreen? It's even cleaner than double cleansing with regular sunscreens.
While I was generally satisfied, there were a couple of drawbacks. Residue I applied it at 9 AM, but by around 8 PM, the sunscreen had shifted on my face, creating a powdery residue. I think this was due to friction with my mask, as I had been wearing it all day. When using it all day, you might need to check and reapply occasionally. It's fine once you reapply though. Summer concerns? I'm not sweating much yet, so I'm not sure, but I'm a bit worried about how it will perform in summer when I'm sweating. When I accidentally spilled some water, that area turned white and the product came off immediately, so I had to reapply. I'll have to test this out during summer.
I'm very satisfied that I can use it without worry due to its gentleness! I'll definitely repurchase it for daily use.
