The texture feels refreshing and pleasant. It has a cool menthol scent and cleanses really well, just like the surfactants in mainstream brand products. According to recent articles about cosmetic ingredients and toxicity, it contains C12-13 Pareth, which is made by adding ethylene oxide (a Group 1 carcinogen) to C12-13 alcohol. It also includes quaternary ammonium compounds, which are highly toxic. I wanted to keep using it for its cleansing power, but I can't anymore. It seems like Hwahae's green standards have become a bit more lenient lately. The same product is flagged for containing quaternary ammonium on another ingredient analysis app called MomGuide. It's scary to think it might contain 1,4-dioxane, which has carcinogenic, allergenic, immunotoxic, and developmental toxicity potential. The app mentions that for these six ingredients considered quaternary ammonium, there's a possibility of trace amounts of 1,4-dioxane (a Group 2B carcinogen) remaining from the benzene and ethylene oxide synthesis process. They suggest checking with the manufacturer about residual harmful solvents. I contacted the company through their chat service, but they only said there's no problem. I wish they would attach relevant documents on the product page to confirm that these carcinogenic substances are definitely not present. The product felt so good to use... When shampooing, I loved the refreshing cooling effect. I thought, 'So this is what they mean by reducing heat sensation!' But most importantly, after using it for about a week, people around me started touching my hair, saying it looked healthier. It felt so good! I only changed my shampoo, and I guess it's true what they say about good ingredients making a difference. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied! I wish it came in a larger size too. Or at least offer refills!
