I was searching for an oil mist to help with my skin that often gets dry due to mask friction, and luckily I was chosen by The Hwahae Testers to review this product! My skin type is dry and super sensitive. This review is based on about 10 days of use. The mist product I've been using until now was the Avène Thermal Spring Water. For an accurate and factual review, I took photos with my iPad's original camera. Now, let's dive into the detailed review! For those short on time, please refer to the overall summary at the bottom. ➕ Texture This is an oil mist that you shake before use, with a 2:8 ratio of oil to essence. The blend feels refreshing when sprayed. After absorption, there's a slight stickiness left on the face. The texture itself is very satisfying and suitable for dry skin! I was worried it might feel heavy since it's an oil mist, but it was surprisingly light. ➕ Design The packaging uses eco-friendly paper, which I appreciated. The transparent bottle is also useful for checking how much product is left. I was particularly impressed by the thoughtful detail of including a space to write the opening date. ➕ Glow effect True to its name as a glow mist, it gives the skin a subtle radiance after spraying. It's not like an oily sheen, but more of a healthy-looking glow! I prefer a subtle glow over an intense one, so I consider this a positive point. ➕ Moisturizing This product seems to focus more on moisturizing than hydration. As it absorbs into the skin over time, I felt it was more about helping with moisture retention than providing hydration. Rather than making the skin feel wet, it seemed to lock in the existing moisture. The moisturizing effect was similar to applying a viscous toner. ➖ Value for money While not overly expensive, the price makes me wonder if it's really worth buying... ➖ Hydration As mentioned earlier, this product feels more moisturizing than hydrating. Initially, it felt moist, but over time it seemed like all the hydration had evaporated. The hydrating effect didn't last very long. ➖ Scent It seems unscented when you just smell it, but strangely, when you shake it and spray it on your face, there's a slight ethanol smell. I'm not a fan of ethanol scents, so I've included this in the downsides. It's not strong though, so those who aren't sensitive to scents probably won't mind! ➖ Absorption The absorption... is quick when you pat it in with your hands (is that normal?), but if you just leave it, it takes some time to absorb. When I put on a mask right after spraying, the mask absorbed the mist instead of my skin. You might need to pat it in or wait a bit longer after spraying. I did a small absorption test with tissue paper (see photo). After 40 seconds, about half of the tissue stuck and didn't come off easily. ➖ Ingredients The ingredients are the most disappointing aspect. Despite seemingly gentle ingredients, something didn't agree with my skin and caused blemishes. As you can see in the photo, I got mild hives(?) in two spots and a full-on breakout in another. If it weren't for the ingredients, I could have given it 4 stars, but due to the breakout, I'm leaving 2 stars. Even with gentle ingredients, there seems to be something that doesn't suit me. (And so I find another ingredient to avoid. Sigh...) ➖ Soothing effect As mentioned in the ingredients section, it caused blemishes and had no soothing effect. The troubled areas actually felt itchy and stinging. While it did somewhat help with dryness, I didn't feel any soothing effect on the blemishes. I'd recommend this to dry skin types looking for a moisturizing mist. For those seeking blemish soothing... I'll leave it at that. ➖ Spray As you might be able to see in the photo, it's a straight spray... not evenly distributed. It concentrates on one area of the face, slightly disrupting base makeup. The Avène mist had good coverage with one spray, but this product requires multiple sprays, which is a bit inconvenient. ❤️ Overall summary This is an oil mist focused more on moisturizing than hydration. It provides a glow and has good ingredients, but it didn't suit me and caused blemishes. The spray isn't great, and the soothing effect is mediocre. Recommended for dry skin types seeking a subtle glow and moisturization! Not recommended for those sensitive to scents or who dislike slight stickiness! ✔️ Not recommended for use right after makeup as it may cause smudging. Instead, I suggest using it at night as the final step of your skincare routine. ✔️ The spray is a bit strong, so I recommend spraying it in the air and letting it settle on your face. Or try spraying from a distance! ✔️ The layers separate quickly even after shaking, so make sure to check before spraying!
