When I only applied sunscreen, my skin looked too oily and dull, so I felt I needed something else. That's when I discovered tinted moisturizers. First off, it adheres well to the skin and applies in a thin layer! I've only used it for a day, so I'm still figuring out the best applicator. When I used a velvet cushion puff, it left some marks, so I had to pat it in carefully. It seemed to settle into my pores a bit, so I had to be careful with the amount. >> Update: Applying with my fingers worked best - no streaks and smooth application! Using brushes or puffs made it sink into pores more, but spreading it with my hands like sunscreen helped minimize this issue. Given the name 'tinted moisturizer', you might expect it to give an intense glow or even feel sticky, but after patting it in, it actually sets to a semi-matte finish, similar to a foundation. I initially wanted to use it as a sunscreen alternative, but I think it would work better if applied over a hydrating skincare routine and a moisturizing sunscreen for that dewy look.
ConsShade 2 comes out as a very natural color, but when I applied it to my skin, it looked darker and redder than I expected. (I've included a comparison shot with my usual Hera Glow Lasting Foundation in 21N1 for those who have it to compare.) For me, shade 2 won't work for brightening my complexion. I'll probably use it instead of foundation for light coverage when I want to even out my skin tone for casual outings. I highly recommend testing the color in person before purchasing! Also, it transfers quite a bit onto masks. Update after a week of use: Some dormant blemishes on my cheeks got bigger and I ended up having to pop them. The blemishes below my lips also worsened while using this tinted moisturizer. Additional note: If you have visible pores, be cautious as it tends to settle into pores around the nose and T-zone, creating small white dots.
