It's a refreshing moisturizer. The scent is lovely, and I appreciate the tube packaging. The texture and feel of the product were quite pleasing. For me, it left my skin feeling dry underneath. Something about the oil and moisture balance didn't seem right. It's runny yet surprisingly rich in oils. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinJan 14, 2024
This product really locks in deep hydration! It absorbs quickly without sitting on top of the skin. With its low oil content, it's perfect for those with oily skin types! Those with dry skin might find it a bit lacking. Even for my combination skin, while it provides deep hydration, it feels so light that the surface moisture seems to evaporate quickly. Also, the price point feels quite high compared to what the product offers. While it provides deep hydration, it's quite a lightweight product. I'd recommend layering a heavier cream on top for added moisture. Also, applying multiple layers of this product can really boost its effectiveness! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinSep 4, 2023
It definitely gives a feeling of replenishing hydration, leaving the skin moisturized and feeling great While it certainly provides hydration, there's no richness to it, so it can feel a bit drying - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 21, 2023
แฐ Scent The scent is fragrance-free! I'm quite sensitive to smells and there are some products I can't use because the scent is too strong, but this one had no smell at all, which I loved. แฐ Irritation I have super sensitive skin that gets inflamed, red, and goes crazy with even the slightest irritation, but this caused absolutely no irritation at all! แฐ Hydration Being a soothing cream, it felt like it was 80-90% water rather than oil. I've tried many other soothing creams, but this one seemed to have more hydration than other products! It would be perfect for those who need hydration without oil. แฐ Application As a soothing cream, it's not heavy and applies smoothly without any resistance! แฐ Finish It feels much more hydrating than oily, leaving a fresh finish after application! It would be great for those who dislike the slippery feeling caused by excess oil. โWhile the high water to oil ratio can be an advantage, it was a disadvantage for me. My skin is extremely dry, so this cream alone wasn't quite moisturizing enough as a final step at night. However, it was perfect for daytime use in summer! โI was disappointed that it only comes in a 60ml size. I think 60ml is too small for a hydrating cream. While the small size makes it convenient to carry around, I wish it came in a larger volume. I recommend layering it two or three times instead of applying just once for better results! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 21, 2023
True to Aestura's reputation, this product is gentle and hydrating. The cream has a slightly translucent color and a texture that's like a soothing gel mixed with cream. It applies incredibly smoothly, absorbs well, and leaves your skin feeling velvety without any stickiness. The fragrance is similar to other Aestura lines, but milder - somewhat reminiscent of an ointment scent. This cream has more hydration than oil content, making it suitable for summer. However, those with extremely dry skin lacking in natural oils might find it not quite moisturizing enough. It's perfect for light summer use! While it doesn't feel heavy, it's still hydrating and gentle. If you apply it generously before bed like a hydrating mask, you'll wake up to beautifully soft skin the next morning! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJul 15, 2023
Hydration / Texture Just from the name 'Soothing Cream', I got the strong impression it would be a hydrating cream - and my guess was spot on! It applies smoothly and feels refreshing, making it perfect for summer use. The texture is bouncy without being runny, which I prefer over watery formulations that tend to drip. I'm all for creams that stay put! Packaging When it comes to creams, I'm a firm believer that tubes reign supreme... so I was thrilled this came in a tube! One of my friends actually prefers jar packaging, saying she can use up every last bit. It's really a matter of personal preference, so take note! Personally, I love the cleanliness and convenience of tubes. Cooling / Calming During these hot summer days, my skin tends to feel warm. This soothing cream instantly cools it down, so I find myself applying it frequently even when I'm at home. Not only does it have a cooling effect, but it also calms my skin when it's irritated and red! I love that the lightweight texture allows for multiple applications without feeling heavy or sitting on top of the skin. However, the downside of this light, refreshing formula is that I tend to use it up quickly, especially given the smaller size. I'll elaborate on this in the 'cons' section. Moisturizing power (While I've listed this as a con, I actually prefer less oily formulas in summer! I'm mentioning this for those with dry skin to keep in mind) While it's great for hydration, it might lack a bit in deep moisturization. It seems perfect for oily or combination skin types. As someone with dry skin, I actually prefer less oily, more hydrating creams in this weather! Of course, if I skimp on my skincare routine before this cream, I do experience some deep dryness. But when I use toner pads for exfoliation, layer on some mist or toner, add a serum or ampoule, and then apply this cream, it's just right for summer - hydrating without being excessive. The finish is truly ideal for the season! It leaves my skin dewy but not greasy, with a subtle glow. When I follow this skincare routine and apply a glowy cushion foundation, my skin looks absolutely stunning. But remember, with any skincare product, applying too much can lead to pilling and caking of makeup. Everything in moderation! Price / Amount I knew Aestura creams tend to be pricey, but considering this is a lightweight soothing cream and only 60ml, it's more expensive than other creams. As I mentioned earlier, it's a product I find myself reapplying often, so this point was quite disappointing. If they released a larger size or offered more discounts, I'd definitely consider repurchasing! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJun 22, 2023
As a member of The Hwahae Testers, here's my honest review. I have combination dehydrated skin that's quite sensitive and delicate. The product has good absorption, and I didn't experience any blemishes while using it. Given it's summer and I tend to sweat a lot, sometimes I end up just washing my face. The container is resistant to contamination, making it convenient to carry around and apply on-the-go. For those with combination dehydrated skin like mine, it lacks sufficient hydration. After application, I felt like it created a film that should have locked in moisture, but instead, it seemed to make the hydration disappear faster. It's not enough to use on its own. When used together with a hydrating ampoule, the unique film-like finish helps maintain moisture for longer. Make sure to use it with an ampoule for best results! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJun 20, 2023
The texture is that of a hydrating cream, but it's not watery. It's slightly thick with a dense feel. I have extremely dry skin, so in the evening I focus on balancing moisture and oil in my skincare routine. There's a noticeable difference between using just an oily cream and using Atobarrier to lock in hydration before applying the final cream. My current routine is first essence, followed by ampoule, Atobarrier, and night cream. I used to use an emulsion, but now I skip that step and use Atobarrier for intense hydration instead. I used to wake up with tight skin, but now it feels moisturized and comfortable in the morning. There's no artificial fragrance, and the ingredients are great, so this is definitely a keeper. For hot summers, I plan to use toner, ampoule, emulsion, and Atobarrier instead of an oily cream. I'm going to Southeast Asia next month, and this is my number one item to pack - it's the perfect size and provides a cool burst of hydration! As it's a hydrating cream without oiliness, those with dry skin might want to use it in combination with oilier products rather than on its own. For those with very dry skin, try applying Aestura cream instead of emulsion at that step in your routine. It gives a feeling of locking in moisture. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinJun 16, 2023
I was already using the popular Aestura Atobarrier Cream, but when I heard they released a soothing version, I was so curious! Luckily, I got the chance to try it as part of The Hwahae Testers group! โ Skin Type: Extremely combination dehydrated skin! Always thirsty for hydration, with oily and acne-prone skin โก No breakouts after use! โ Hydration: Definitely more hydrating compared to the original Aestura Atobarrier Cream! If you found the original cream lacking in moisture, this product might be perfect for you! โ Texture: Light texture. As summer approaches, we often look for lighter moisturizers, and this one definitely has a lightweight formula. I was slightly disappointed with the heavier feel of the original Atobarrier Cream, but this texture is just right! However, it's not completely oil-free, it feels like it forms a protective layer, so while it's not super light, it seems like it will prevent moisture loss! โ Scent: Almost fragrance-free, so it shouldn't be bothersome when applying โ Size: For a moisturizer that you tend to use generously, the amount seems really small... โ Hydration: While it's more hydrating than the original Atobarrier Cream, it's still a bit lacking for a product labeled as a moisturizer! It's fine for daily, light use, but if you're expecting that super hydrated feeling, you might be slightly disappointed Even though it's a moisturizer, there's still a bit of oil present. To make up for the slightly disappointing hydration, you could use a serum in the previous step and finish with this hydro moisturizer. This will create a thin oily barrier that can help prevent moisture loss! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJun 15, 2023
I absolutely love almost everything about this product! It's a perfect hydrating cream for the warmer season, especially summer. I've been using Aestura MD products for a really long time (almost over 10 years?). To be honest, I tried the regular 365 line when it first launched and thought it wasn't as effective as the MD line, so I hadn't used it since. But wow, trying the 365 line again after all this time, I'm amazed at how good it is! The MD line was a bit too rich for this season, leaving my skin oily when I woke up, but this one absorbs completely without that issue. The best part is that I can easily apply it before bed and before makeup. It absorbs well and provides sufficient hydration. There's no better moisturizer for hot weather! There's not really anything bad to say... Of course, it might not be enough in winter. It doesn't have that thick, balanced oil and moisture feel (which is natural for a hydro product!). If you feel it's slightly lacking, you might want to layer a thin hydrating serum underneath for nighttime use.
