The absorption and application are both great, but most importantly, it's soothing and gentle on the skin. It seems to strengthen the skin barrier - I'm on my third bottle now, and since finishing the second one, my skin that used to flare up when I was tired or not feeling well has calmed down. I used to use it with an ampoule, but now I'm just using the essence alone. I apply it two or three times and then follow with a cream, which keeps my skin sufficiently hydrated even without the ampoule. The price is a bit high, but when I bought it during an Olive Young sale for around $20, I thought it might actually be cheaper considering its larger volume compared to other essences. However, since Olive Young doesn't always have sales, the regular price of $40 does seem expensive when you look at it. Right after application, it feels like it captures moisture and banishes dryness completely. It would be great to use during seasonal changes or in winter-like conditions. Unfortunately, the hydration evaporates faster than expected, leaving only a greasy feeling behind. I definitely wouldn't recommend it for summer use.
