However, being a serum, if you're not careful with the amount, it can feel a bit heavy. At first, I thought 'a little extra won't hurt,' but using too much can make your hair look weighed down. The key is to use just the right amount - a small dollop in your palm is enough. Also, it does leave a slightly oily residue on your hands, so you might need to wash them after application. Make sure to apply the serum only to the ends of your hair! Applying it mid-length can make your hair look too heavy and greasy. Affordable with a pleasant scent and good value for money. It makes my fine, split-prone hair look healthier and more manageable. Being an oil, it can make the scalp look greasy if applied there. It's best to apply just a small amount to the ends of your hair. Apply it once to damp hair after washing to help define curls. I trusted Mise-en-Scene, known for their hair products, and bought this serum. There's definitely a reason for their fame. It's easily one of the top three hair serums I've ever used. The transparent, slightly sticky formula comes in a convenient pump bottle. It has a subtle floral scent and doesn't leave any stickiness after application, so your hair doesn't look greasy. You're supposed to apply it to damp hair, focusing on the ends, with a few pumps in your palm while drying. The difference between using it and not using it was noticeable. My wavy hair tends to get curlier after washing, but after applying Mise-en-Scene's Perfect Hair Serum, I could see my hair becoming overall more manageable. It also made my hair softer, resulting in less hair fall during brushing. I was pleased that it kept my hair smooth even after using a flat iron. After a few months of use, I could definitely feel my hair texture improving. When the product was almost finished, even though there was still some left inside, it became difficult to pump out. Usage Period: I've been using this for 4 years, though not consistently. I tend to use it whenever I see it! Texture and Feel: It's quite sticky! Compared to L'Oreal's essence, this one is much more viscous. I remember being surprised by how thin the L'Oreal essence was in comparison. The instructions suggest applying it before and after drying your hair. When applied before drying, it feels fine and doesn't seem to damage the hair, which is great. However, after drying, it feels a bit too concentrated and can make your hair feel greasy. So I wouldn't recommend it for those prone to oily hair. That's probably the main drawback I've noticed. Scent: This is why I'm loyal to this essence. The fragrance is unique and absolutely wonderful! I'd describe it as a lovely, feminine scent. It suits my taste much better than other essences, which is why I keep using it! The scent seems to last quite a while too. If you love the fragrance, I'd recommend sticking with it. Since it's from a company known for hair products, it seems to provide decent care for hair damage. Effectiveness: While the scent is fantastic and it does make your hair feel softer immediately, I haven't noticed long-term improvements in hair texture. So if you're looking for significant hair texture improvement, I'd suggest trying other products. However, I've settled on this one because I love the scent! Bonus: The small size makes it super convenient to carry around! It's especially great for travel, and the cap seems secure enough to prevent leaks (unless you really shake it up). 1. I wish it came in a larger size for home use. It would be great if they offered two versions: a small travel-size and a larger one for regular use at home. 2. Given the small quantity, it would be nice if they could lower the price or have more frequent sales. 3. I hope they can improve the formula so it doesn't make hair look greasy, and enhance its ability to truly improve hair texture over time. My personal tip! Make sure to apply it thoroughly before and after drying your hair! With winter here, my hair was getting drier and more damaged. Applying this serum generously has significantly reduced static and hair damage. The consistency is just right, making it easy to control the amount used. The staying power is average. It's best to use it three times a day - morning, noon, and night. For best results, dry your hair about 80% of the way, then apply the serum before finishing with the hairdryer. This helps minimize damage to your hair.
