As someone who dyed their hair for the first time ever, here's my take. Can't compare it to other products, but it comes with all the essentials - a huge plastic bag, ear caps, and more. One bottle was enough, though I did have some help from mom :) If you're doing it solo and have similar hair, I'd recommend getting two bottles to be safe. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I think the heat from my scalp made the dye take better along my part. The back of my head and ends seemed less dyed than expected.
