I was pleased to see Etude House release a product that pays attention to its ingredients. The absorption wasn't bad, and I appreciate that it's fragrance-free. I think it could work well for those whose skin agrees with it.
I heard about the Soon Jung line and after reading Hwahae reviews, I rushed to buy it in-store on the first day of release. Maybe my expectations were too high. I applied it for the first time before bed, and initially thought it was okay, feeling like it created a moisturizing barrier. The next day, my face looked somewhat tired, but I brushed it off thinking I was just having an off day. I applied it again in the morning before makeup, but... I ended up washing my face thoroughly as soon as I got home early that evening. All day my skin looked dull, as if my pores were clogged, making me feel stuffy. After cleansing, my skin felt alive and refreshed - my bare face actually looked brighter! I'm not sure if it's because of the stearic acid, but I even got a few red blemishes on my cheeks.
After just two uses, I went back to my original emulsion. My previous product was great, just a bit weak in hydration, which is why I tried Soon Jung as an alternative. When I returned to my old product, my skin troubles disappeared overnight.
