First off, I've tried three popular sunscreens: Round Lab Safe Sun Cream, A24 Sun Cream, and Dr.G Green Mild Up Sun Cream. Let me share my experience.
My skin is oily and prone to blemishes - about 80% more likely than average to develop acne. In my early 20s, I struggled with cystic acne and closed comedones. Now in my late 20s, as long as I avoid rich products, I rarely get breakouts, probably due to hormonal changes.
While my skin is oily, it's also dehydrated. In winter, it gets super dry despite the oiliness.
A24 wasn't suitable for summer use in my opinion. It felt greasy and caused breakouts. It might work better in spring, fall, or winter.
Dr.G Mild Up Sun and Round Lab Sun Cream feel quite similar. Without a solid skincare routine, both can feel drying in air-conditioned spaces during summer. Your skin might feel tight.
My routine: I pat in toner three times, apply a regenerating cream or emulsion, then use either sunscreen. This prevents dryness!
The subtle difference between Dr.G and Round Lab is in how heavy they feel. Personally, Dr.G felt slightly heavier and more suffocating, while Round Lab felt lighter and fresher.
Dr.G also got a bit oilier over time compared to Round Lab. It kept creasing in my eyelid folds, requiring frequent touch-ups, while Round Lab didn't have this issue.
These differences are minor, so choose based on price if you're deciding between the two.
Both Dr.G and Round Lab didn't cause blemishes and seem perfect for oily skin in summer. They're also great for sensitive skin types.
All three products break down badly when you sweat. Without sweating, the Round Lab Safe Sun Cream held up the best even after 10 hours.
For best results, use the '3-skin method' in summer and '7-skin method' in winter for your base skincare before applying sunscreen.
