The Designer Lift has a new rival for my holy grail foundation! I was hesitant to buy it because I heard it lacked coverage, but I'm so glad I did. The verdict? It's absolutely fantastic! Here's why: 1. It's incredibly hydrating 2. While the coverage isn't high, it looks very natural 3. It gives a luxurious, glowing skin finish that's to die for 4. The staying power is phenomenal - it doesn't break down at all The shade is about 1.5 tones lighter for my 24-25 skin tone. I wanted shade 5, but it was out of stock at duty-free, so I just went for it. It's a bit light, but the sheerness makes it work! I'm 200% sure I'll repurchase this in shade 5 next time! The price tag is a bit steep. I'm not sure if it's just mine, but the lid that's supposed to click shut feels slightly loose. Apply it smoothly with a spatula, and if you feel like you need more coverage, follow up with some concealer! - mx******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 16, 2023
I was looking for a truly natural-looking foundation/tinted moisturizer/BB cream when I stumbled upon YouTuber Ellie's video and decided I had to try it. After reading almost all the Naver reviews, it seemed opinions were split between 1) lack of coverage and 2) loving how natural it looks. Since I didn't need coverage or whitening, just something to make my skin look a bit better, I went straight to the department store to test it. Though people often tell me I have fair skin, I really dislike that typical whitening effect of base makeup... you know, that 'oh, she's wearing makeup' look? Anyway, my other option was Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free in Porcelain. I had just come from the dermatologist, so my face was a bit dry, but even when the staff applied it with a puff, it didn't look cakey. It just looked natural, but with improved skin. It even worked well with my facial hair! I wore it home under a mask, and there was hardly any transfer. I guess it's so thin there's nothing to rub off. I immediately ordered it online! Update after trying it at home: These guys suddenly changed the name to 'tinted moisturizer'... I was confused for a second when I received it! I applied it with a spatula, and it truly looks so natural! I wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking for coverage. Also, I've heard shade 4 is quite controversial, so definitely test it on your face at the department store before buying. They called it a foundation when it launched, but honestly, it's more like a CC/BB cream in terms of coverage. I only recommend this for people who: 1) Want an absolutely natural look 2) Don't want to look like they're wearing makeup 3) Find traditional foundations difficult to apply or end up looking cakey. Also, when applying this type of product, never use too much. Using a spatula, a pea-sized amount is more than enough. If you use too much, it will immediately look cakey.
