ProsI used to use the Vanillaco Clean It Zero cleansing balm often, but when I compared it to the Hwahae cleansing balm, I felt that the latter had much less greasiness. After cleansing, there was no stuffy or sticky feeling, which I really liked.
My skin type is combination - dry and oily. I have a skin that doesn't agree with oily and greasy ingredients. Whenever I used products with oil, I would often get pimples and inflammatory acne. But the Hwahae cleansing balm doesn't leave any greasy feeling at all, and the cleansing is very quick and effective.
Of course, I personally prefer a clean feeling after cleansing, so I do a second cleanse with a mild foaming cleanser. But I think if you have dry skin, a single cleanse with the Hwahae balm would be sufficient!
The color is a calming green/light green shade, and it's fragrance-free, which I really appreciate as well.
And the most important part - the ingredients!
I have quite sensitive skin, so I always check the ingredients carefully before buying. Most cleansing balms usually have 3-4 questionable ingredients, but this one has none of those. So I was able to use it comfortably even when I won the Hwahae Trial Reviewer program.
It's been about 5 days since I started using it, and I haven't experienced any breakouts or acne flare-ups.
As for cleansing power, I'm not sure since I don't usually wear heavy makeup, but it seems to remove sunscreen and cushion foundation well. I mainly use a lip and eye makeup remover for my eye and lip makeup, so that hasn't been an issue either.
ConsI didn't really feel like it was particularly effective in removing blackheads or sebum, despite the good ingredients.
And the balm packaging, where you have to scoop it out with a spatula, was always a bit inconvenient for me. It would be even more inconvenient if I happened to misplace the spatula. But other than that, I didn't have any other major complaints.
