First time trying a cleansing balm! As someone with super oily, combination dehydrated skin and massive pores, I've honestly felt that most cleansing oils don't suit my skin type. I've been alternating between them and cleansing waters occasionally. I'd heard that cleansing milks or balms are better for oily skin, but I'd been putting off finding the right product. Hwahae's cleansing balm instantly reminded me of solidified coconut oil. Scooping it out with a spoon and applying it to your face is truly a game-changer! Just like coconut oil melting with heat, it dissolves effortlessly with a single touch, creating the perfect consistency for a massage. Unlike cleansing oils that run down your wrists and arms, this maintains an ideal temperature and stays put, making it great for facial rolling. Similar to cleansing oils, it emulsifies when you add water, but without feeling greasy. The overall experience is fantastic. After cleansing, there's no deep dryness, and it leaves my skin feeling fresh. I could tell it suited my skin well. It doesn't feel slimy or sticky at all, so I think I'll stick with this product.
You probably can't expect it to dissolve blackheads like some cleansing oils do. However, I did notice that continued massaging helped smooth out my skin texture to some extent. It also cleared away dead skin cells, so I don't have any major complaints. The only slight inconvenience might be having to manage the spoon?
