I've used 3 bottles of Innisfree's Bija Cica Balm, so I'll compare it to this cream! For reference, I have combination dehydrated skin, and during seasonal changes like now, I feel a bit of deep dryness, but without powder, my dewy foundation is still a no-go. 1. Texture (absorbs): I preferred Physiogel's texture. It's like applying whipped cream! Some people found the texture disappointing, but I liked how Physiogel glides on more smoothly. 2. Absorption: Physiogel wins again. While Innisfree feels oilier, Physiogel is lighter and absorbs faster. Just be careful with the amount - the right amount locks in previous liquid products, but too much seems to 'eat up' the earlier layers. 3. Night application: I don't do heavy nighttime skincare yet. I usually apply a couple drops of watery ampoule and then cream. With Innisfree, my skin felt soft until morning. But with Physiogel, my skin felt dry and the texture wasn't great. It's fine for morning hydration, but for evenings, I've gone back to my usual cream after testing this for the Hwahae Testers review. However, it's perfect for mornings as it's not too rich and sets previous skincare well (assuming you've done a thorough routine!). I initially started using Innisfree's Cica Balm for blemish soothing rather than hydration, so I wanted to focus on Physiogel's blemish-calming effects too. When I applied for the Hwahae Testers, I was stressed about blemishes on my cheeks, but they calmed down before the product arrived (fortunate, but I still wanted to test its effectiveness!). While I couldn't specifically review its blemish-fighting power, I didn't get any new breakouts during use! (I did get a tiny bump on my cheek yesterday, but I'm not sure if it's related to this product. I'll update if it seems to help.)
While it might be fine in summer, I think it's hard to rely on this alone for hydration in winter. I always focus on hydration due to my dehydrated skin, and this is good as a finishing step after proper hydration. But if you apply it right after minimal hydration, it might actually make your skin texture look worse. And the price! It's not cheap, but the regular price is lower than Innisfree... I always buy Innisfree on sale, so I forgot its regular price, but comparing regular prices and volume, Physiogel is cheaper. Innisfree users might find Physiogel more affordable, while those used to cheaper creams might find it pricey. I'd buy it on sale. Overall, I liked it though! I was getting bored after almost finishing my third bottle of Bija Cica Balm, so I applied for the Hwahae Testers. I'm glad I got selected and discovered a good product!
