My reason for buying: I've only used The Face Shop's cleansing micellar line before. But when I heard about their 30-50% off regular sale, and since I needed a new body wash for post-workout, I decided to pop into the store. Usually, The Face Shop's skincare line is pricier compared to other road shop brands, so I'd normally opt for something else. However, with the discount and the gorgeous bottle design, I was drawn in. I tested it on the back of my hand and ended up buying this emulsion along with others from the same line. Application: When I first applied it to the back of my hand, it absorbed quickly and felt incredibly hydrating. I loved the clean feeling and how you could see the product inside the bottle. Using it on my face was just as pleasant. It's a pump bottle, and as soon as you press it, a slightly runny, clear yellow liquid comes out. It applies smoothly and feels moisturizing on the skin. Absorption: It's not overly oily, so as expected, it absorbs quickly. At first, I wondered if it would really tackle my dry skin, but it surprised me in a good way. I'm impatient, so I prefer products that absorb fast while providing hydration, and this one definitely delivers. Moisturizing: Initially, I was skeptical about its moisturizing power. I'm usually loyal to my regular products, but lately, I've been feeling adventurous. This product turned out to be excellent for hydration. I use it after toner, and not only does it address my deep dryness, but it also makes my skin brighter and more radiant. It's my first time trying The Face Shop's skincare line, and it's a big win. Effects: The longer I use it, the brighter my skin becomes, and I feel like my dehydrated skin is improving. While it might not be enough on its own for extremely cold and dry winter days, I think it's a fantastic product for daily use.
First off, if it weren't for the regular sales, I don't think the price would be accessible for most people. No matter how good a product is, people need to try it to know if it works for them. Of course, if word spreads, it'll sell well. Please keep offering big discounts! Also, while the pump is convenient, considering the weight and size of the bottle, it feels like there's not as much product inside as there could be... it seems to run out quickly. But maybe that's just my imagination! The scent is also something to consider. It's kind of like a lemon scent? I can't quite describe it, but the refreshing fragrance might be hit or miss for some people.
After your toner step, apply this directly to your face and gently pat it in to feel a radiant hydration. While it may vary for each person, I find that even if I do my skincare routine and apply makeup afterwards, it doesn't cause pilling and actually helps my makeup adhere better. The staff mentioned that all of The Face Shop's skincare products are gentle, so you can apply them between any steps in your routine.
