I traveled for over two weeks without sunscreen, and the parts of my face not covered by makeup got terribly tanned. It would've looked better if I'd tanned evenly, but the edges where sweat wiped off my makeup, my nose, and neck... I looked awful. When I got back, a close friend asked if I'd been to Hawaii or somewhere without sunscreen! She recommended this product with the highest aloe content, and I started using it. My tanned skin recovered incredibly fast. It's been two months since I returned, and my complexion has completely returned to normal. I have sensitive, blemish-prone skin, but whether it's the product itself or just that aloe suits me well, it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and doesn't worsen my blemishes. While it hasn't necessarily improved my skin, it certainly doesn't hinder its improvement. The price and quantity are great value for money. Oh, and I bought the squeeze tube version, which was convenient and easy to use.
If you squeeze out too much and slather it on thickly, you'll regret it... It doesn't absorb well and the excess product left on the skin hardens and pills off like dead skin cells. It wasn't good when applying makeup or before bed... It's best to squeeze out a moderate amount, apply it, and pat it in for better absorption. Looking at the ingredients on Hwahae, they're not all gentle. I'm a bit worried about my cat licking it...
Not only did my face get terribly tanned, but my blemishes also got so bad that my skin rejected all cushion foundations (they made my skin itchy, and by evening cleanse, my blemishes would worsen). During this time, I mixed this gel with a concealer I could use without aggravating my blemishes in a 3:2 ratio as a foundation replacement. While it maintained the coverage of the concealer, it significantly reduced its staying power, so I had to touch up frequently. However, it allowed me to have a skin recovery period without worsening my blemishes. Both preparing the mixture and frequent touch-ups were quite bothersome, but surprisingly, even when I kept reapplying with a cushion outside, it didn't cake or separate, and my blemishes didn't get worse. However, because it's such a hassle, I went back to using cushion foundation after my skin recovered.
