The scent is a mix of yuzu and floral notes, which might be hit or miss for some. After using this shampoo, your scalp feels quite tight. If you enjoy that sensation, I'd recommend giving it a try. It leaves your scalp feeling so taut that it's almost hard to run your fingers through your hair - similar to how Lush's New shampoo bar feels. However, it seems to strip away too much oil, causing your scalp to produce more sebum even faster. I've tried the double cleansing method, but it didn't seem to make much of a difference. Word of caution: keep your eyes closed while lathering, as it can sting if it gets in your eyes. I've been on the hunt for a shampoo suitable for my oily scalp. I'm trying out sulfate-free and silicone-free options, which often turn out to be anti-hair loss formulas. I've also used Labo H's oily scalp shampoo, which leaves my scalp feeling less tight than this one. Remember to keep your eyes closed while using it to avoid irritation. Hope this helps you get a sense of how it feels to use! - dm*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsMar 7, 2023
I bought this shampoo through Olive Young's same-day delivery when my usual one ran out. My scalp tends to get oily within half a day, so I was curious to try this. Overall, it was decent. I can't say for sure if it reduces oil production, but it does give a cool, refreshing feeling on the scalp. It has small particles that seem to dissolve well. Interestingly, I noticed some baby hairs sticking up like grass, though I'm not sure if it's because of this shampoo. I've never experienced hair growth or improvement from using anti-hair loss shampoos before, so I can't really comment on that aspect. Just something to keep in mind! Since I have sensitive facial skin, if this shampoo touches my face, it can cause something like dermatitis. Because of this, I probably won't repurchase it, unfortunately. It's best to use products that suit your individual needs. - tm********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAug 31, 2021
The Hwahae Testers review (I'm so sorry for being late!) First, about my scalp condition... I've had thin hair since childhood, so I couldn't avoid using anti-hair loss shampoos. Maybe because I used the wrong shampoos, at some point I started getting blemishes on my scalp, and by evening my hair would get greasy, making dry shampoo an absolute must-have for me. This, of course, led to even more clogged pores - a vicious cycle. - The cleansing effectiveness is top-notch. Even if the wind messes up my hair, it doesn't get greasy until I wake up the next morning. That would never happen with my usual scalp... It feels like my scalp is getting super clean? But it doesn't feel dry either. Maybe because I have such an oily scalp, it feels incredibly refreshing right after washing. It even held up in the peak of summer! I really didn't need dry shampoo at all!!! - Seeing 'Biotin' written prominently gives me confidence that it might be effective for hair loss. I think it would be good to use consistently. - I thought a shampoo for oily scalps might dry out the hair, but even without using conditioner, my hair didn't feel overly dry, which was great. On busy days, just shampooing might be enough. - It has a citrus scent, which I personally didn't like... The strong fragrance makes hair washing a bit unpleasant. - I massaged it in and left it for a moment, but either because of some irritating ingredients or my sensitive skin, my scalp started burning. It was more than just a cooling sensation - my scalp felt tingly, which startled me into rinsing it off immediately. It feels like it might be irritating my scalp, causing a slight itching sensation. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 27, 2021
The biotin shampoo contains climbazole, which helps with dandruff control. I've noticed a significant reduction in visible dead skin cells on my scalp. The scent isn't overpowering, making it suitable for all ages and genders without causing discomfort. Even with long hair, a small amount creates a rich lather - it's a foam explosion! Thanks to the menthol ingredient, you can experience a cooling effect on your scalp, reminiscent of a refreshing beer. As it removes impurities, it can leave your hair feeling somewhat stiff. I'd strongly recommend using a conditioner with this shampoo. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 15, 2021Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

Hair condition after using the shampoo for 2 weeks: While there's no dramatic visible difference yet, I can feel that my hair has become stronger and seems to be growing better than before. Detailed observations: Initially, I didn't particularly like the scent. The shampoo has a yellowish tint and contains small particles suspended in the liquid. I always used conditioner after this shampoo because it left my hair feeling a bit stiff, possibly due to the high concentration of nourishing ingredients. I hope this information is helpful! Since it's an anti-hair loss shampoo, I expected to see a noticeable increase in hair volume, but I haven't experienced that yet, which is disappointing. Also, when using a large amount of the shampoo, my hair feels really stiff, which is another downside. I strongly recommend using a conditioner or hair treatment after this shampoo! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 14, 2021Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

However, when I wash my hair with this product, it gets incredibly tangled, almost as if I've just washed it in a swimming pool. It seems like using a conditioner is absolutely essential with this one. Conditioner is a must - an********Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 14, 2021Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

But with this, it seems to happen less. At first, I thought there wasn't enough lather, but if you massage it well on your scalp, it actually produces a lot of foam. The instructions say to leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing, so I tried that. Oh my goodness, it makes my scalp feel so refreshingly cool! I absolutely love it... To be honest, I can't think of any downsides so far. And I'm not just saying this because I'm one of The Hwahae Testers. There really isn't anything negative to report. I haven't experienced any blemishes, it lathers well even with a small amount, it completely removes oil, and leaves my scalp feeling cool. Leaving the shampoo on for a few minutes before rinsing is a game-changer! It feels incredibly refreshing. It's like it's cooling down my scalp - I love it so much! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinJul 13, 2021Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

I loved how it left my hair feeling squeaky clean and invigorated. The rich lather is impressive - while other products struggle to foam up with the same amount, this one produces abundant suds even with a small quantity. It's quite satisfying. The cooling sensation is a bit too intense. While a moderate coolness can feel refreshing, this product's overpowering chill limited my usage. For comparison, dental shampoos or the Organist Sea Salt Shampoo seem to have a more balanced cooling effect. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 12, 2021Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

Slightly stiff texture As a 40-something with color-treated hair, dry scalp, and thinning concerns in the front... My husband in his 40s with oily, sensitive scalp and hair loss worries... Our preteen daughter dealing with scalp odor and frequent skin irritation... The three of us gave it a try! Since it's a shampoo for oily scalps and hair loss prevention, my husband tried it first. He loved the rich lather, thorough cleansing, cooling scalp sensation, and surprisingly, the user-friendly bottle design. He mentioned how frustrating it is when pump bottles drip or malfunction. The Bro & Tips Alpha Biotin shampoo has a sturdy, long pump that works well. The white bottle also looks clean in the bathroom. I was intrigued by the tiny particles in the shampoo formula. They don't dissolve quickly but aren't as harsh as a scrub - just a subtle massaging feel. The unique tangerine peel scent was pleasant from the start. It might be polarizing, but our family all enjoyed it. Though I don't have an oily scalp, I appreciated the refreshing feel. My scalp didn't dry out or experience any issues post-wash. This may be due to the moisturizing panthenol, soothing allantoin, and biotin for strengthening the scalp barrier. It also contains hair loss care ingredients, but long-term use would be needed to see improvement. (Hwahae members usually check the full ingredients list carefully!) Lastly, our preteen daughter with long hair loved how the citrus scent eliminated scalp odor and left a refreshing sensation. The cooling menthol was perfect for summer. Despite her sensitive skin and eyes, she had no irritation or discomfort. Her hair tends to be frizzy, but due to frequent skin issues and puberty-related acne concerns, we're sticking to just shampoo for now (no conditioner or treatment). My husband, who doesn't use conditioner or treatment, felt his hair was a bit stiff. Other than that, he was satisfied. Since our daughter has thick hair and often shampoos twice, I tried double-washing first. The menthol's cooling effect was mild on the first wash but quite strong on the second, making my scalp feel sensitive. I advised our daughter to use a generous amount for a thorough single wash. (This tip might be helpful for those with thick hair.) Also, I noticed PEG in the ingredients list. I wish they could remove it. While I enjoy the refreshing feel and pleasant scent, the presence of such ingredients makes me hesitate slightly. Hair might feel slightly stiff after shampooing, so those with long hair should consider using a treatment. Double-washing may cause scalp sensitivity. Even if you don't have an oily scalp, it's great for cool scalp care in summer. I recommend alternating it with your regular shampoo. It effectively eliminates scalp odor with its citrus scent. I'm a fan of fermented yeast ingredients... With hop extract, beer yeast ferment, and barley seed ferment to care for weakened hair roots and lifeless strands, I'll keep using it consistently. Hoping for good results! - k_*****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 12, 2021Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

This shampoo provides an instant cooling effect, which I love. The foam is rich and creamy, and a small amount is enough for thorough cleansing. It has tiny beads that burst while washing, giving a sensation of cleaning your hair more meticulously. Interestingly, though I'm not sure of the exact effect, my hair seems to have become slightly thicker. My hair was originally thin and lifeless, but now it feels subtly more voluminous. The scent is... well, it's like an odd combination of green tea and mint - something difficult to describe. It's not unpleasant, but I can't say it's particularly nice either. I'm not sure if it significantly reduces hair loss, but maybe instead of losing 20 strands, I'm losing about 15? Due to its rich texture, I recommend putting some in your hand, adding a bit of water, and then lathering it up.
