I found this product while searching for a pearl-based product! It's a product I've been using by applying it with light taps on the cheeks, forehead, and chin area after skincare and sunscreen. It has good spreadability, and true to its name as a 'pearl base', it gives a glowing finish after full makeup application, making it look pretty. My strength control seems to be the issue, as every time I try to do something, more comes out than I intended... The pearl particles are fine and absolutely gorgeous. It's perfect for that Inner Glow makeup look. The absorbs well is excellent, and when mixed with sunscreen, it gives an incredible Inner Glow finish. Sometimes I just use this to complete my skin routine. I also mix it with foundation. There's nothing bad to say about it. I'll definitely repurchase when I run out. Why? Because even the packaging is beautiful! - hl*******Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 12, 2024
It adheres well to the skin, so I'd recommend it for those with acne and a lot of dead skin cells I didn't get any blemishes, so I think it's good! It also has a slightly rich feel - wa********Combination SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedMar 3, 2024
Maybe I set my expectations too high after reading all the positive reviews... It fell a bit short of meeting my hopes. Initially, it applies with a nice moisturizing feel, but that dewy glow doesn't last very long. (I tried touching up my dry, flaky under-eye area, but the effect was only good at first and didn't last.) The actual color has a slight pink tint, not the pearlescent shade shown in photos. As someone prone to redness, I usually avoid very pink products, but this one doesn't emphasize the pink and just gives a brightening effect. Overall, it works well as a thin primer layer or mixed with foundation. I'd recommend applying it all over and then adding foundation or cushion on top - this way the glow isn't excessive or overwhelming. In conclusion, it's nice to have but not something I'd desperately miss if I didn't. It didn't live up to my expectations... To be honest, I've found an even prettier pearlescent base! I'll be posting a detailed review of that one soon. - sh******Combination SkinRecommendedFeb 2, 2024
I opened the product right after purchasing, and I must say the case is quite pretty - it'll look nice on my vanity. When I applied it to the back of my hand, my first impression was that it felt moisturizing. It reminded me of the old Benefit High Beam - I guess I'm showing my age! I immediately applied it by pumping out two tiny amounts, each smaller than a bean, onto my cheeks. I blended it with a matte sunscreen before applying a matte foundation. After spending about 2 hours outdoors in 7°C weather, I was pleased to find that it held up well. Thanks to the subtle pearls, my skin looked radiant even without using a highlighter. As someone with sensitive skin, I didn't experience any itching, and my eyes didn't show any signs of irritation or redness. I think I'll be able to continue using this product. The key point of this product seems to be its subtle luminosity. If you want more glow, you could always add a separate highlighter, but personally, I find the gentle radiance from this makeup base's pearls to be just right. While the texture isn't overly rich, those with combination dehydrated or oily skin types should definitely pair it with a matte sunscreen and matte foundation. For those with dry skin who are sensitive to oil, I'd recommend choosing either a matte sunscreen or foundation to go with it. I've tried mixing it with Etude House sunscreen and applying it under Yves Saint Laurent or Estée Lauder Double Wear foundations. It didn't cause any excess oil or settle into wrinkles - it was perfect. It's easy to handle and reasonably priced, so I'd recommend it as a great starter product for those trying a pearlescent makeup base for the first time. I'm used to fragrance-free products, so I'm not accustomed to strongly scented items. This product has a distinctive, somewhat wavering scent. While it might appeal to older generations, it's not likely to be popular among younger users. I'd suggest considering a different fragrance when the product is next updated. - cj**********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 8, 2022
Calling all glow-lovers! Gather 'round! As someone with super oily skin, I'm absolutely addicted to that glowy look. Even when I'm using full-coverage foundations like Double Wear, I always add a touch of highlighter or a dewy stick somewhere. With masks being a thing, putting products on top of your base has its limits and tends to fade quickly. So I usually only go all out when I'm in the car (since I'll be taking the mask off at restaurants anyway). You know how it is, right? On public transport, it's all about that SPF 50 life. Why bother with an elaborate base when it's just going to get ruined? Anyway, that's why I've been on a year-long quest to find a product that gives me that luminous look from within my foundation. So, I'm going to introduce this product and compare it to others I've tried, to show you exactly why and how it's so good! (I'm writing this because I love it and want to recommend it!) u220e 1) Texture - Not heavy at all! Zero weight! Not thick! Major plus! (Maybe that's why I didn't get any blemishes. Your mileage may vary) - Applies smoothly. Some products like Code Glokolor and others can be thick and clump up or finish heavy, but this is almost liquid-like and applies thinly. u220e 2) Pore coverage? - A little...? Medium, I'd say! The Chanel primer I used before (which was super pricey) covered pores well and gave a beautiful glow, making it my absolute fave. This one's a bit less effective in comparison. But it still does a decent job of covering! I haven't used a pore primer in a while, so this might be very subjective. Please focus more on the 'glow effect' and 'texture' aspects. (For pore coverage, check out other reviews or tests!) u220e 3) The much-anticipated glow effect?! - I was blown away by the radiance that shone through even with semi-matte foundations! I thought, 'This is it!' It even outperformed Chanel! The glow is prettier and more pronounced than Chanel, similar radiance to Armani but less heavy and pore-clogging, and more satisfying than all the other products I've tried! Below are brief reviews and comparisons of products I've used. Feel free to skim if you're interested! a) Chanel Primer. Great functionality but loses to semi-matte foundations. That's why I was looking for something with more radiance, and this Glint product wraps around the skin more like a liquid coating, giving a better glow effect! (Chanel feels more like skincare with less of a coating feel) b) Code Glokolor. Didn't really work for me... Felt too thick and heavy, a bit excessive in my opinion. c) VDL. Absolute champion at making base products stick and improving longevity! But it's kind of like Benefit? I bought the glow type but couldn't see much difference from the original thick version. There's a gap between how it feels when you first apply and the finish. d) Armani Beauty. It's that long white product! It has a blue tint that covers yellow tones well and performs great. It finishes very smoothly with a significant glow coating! The skin looks as beautiful as with this Glint product. But... after some time with foundation on, it started to feel 'heavy'. I used it well for a while, but eventually things started to surface and I got blemishes, so I stopped using it. e) MAC. Famous for being pretty, right?! But... it seemed to make my foundation pill and emphasize pores. The finish looks smooth, but maybe due to the particles, it pilled for me. It works okay with semi-matte, pore-covering foundations, but then it loses to those products and the radiance disappears. - I'm still curious about the Benefit Pearl Glow version (not the original), and the Guerlain base. Someone compared Guerlain favorably to Chanel foundation in the comments, and I recently fell in love with Guerlain foundation. If I try the base, I'll pit it against Glint! If you're looking for a product that gives a great glow, is relatively lightweight (but not so absorbed that it doesn't cover), and is easy to apply and use, I highly recommend this! I don't have any complaints yet! At first, I thought I wanted more radiance, but when I used the right foundation, it was already perfectly pretty! I was even more satisfied because it didn't feel oily and the texture was light. If I find any downsides, I'll update. The photo shows my skin after applying the Glint base and makeup! There's not much else to attach, so here's at least this... Proper moisturizing skincare is a must! If you have deep dryness or super sensitive skin = Unfortunately, skipping primer might be the way to protect your skin... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 19, 2021
If you want to achieve a bright and radiant complexion, I highly recommend the Glint Glow Pearl Base. Its moisturizing, bouncy texture contains rosy glow pearls that instantly brighten your skin with a pink tint and give a luminous glow. The lightweight, smooth formula absorbs well. When I tested it on the back of my hand, there was a noticeable difference right after application, but once fully absorbed, it left a subtle pearlescent finish that naturally evens skin tone. It would look gorgeous not just on the face, but also on any body part you want to highlight - especially legs or collarbones. Instead of creating an obvious sheen, it leaves a delicate pearl effect that beautifully catches the light. Though compact in size, a little goes a long way, so it should last quite a while. The pump makes it easy to control the amount dispensed. I usually apply it before my cushion foundation, and it makes my skin look a bit better than usual. It also helps my makeup adhere better and slightly brightens my complexion (see first photo). I've been using it as a highlighter too, and it's great for creating a subtle glow (see second photo). It's such a shame we're in the era of face masks. Due to its moisturizing formula, it transfers a bit more than usual... It looks so pretty normally, which makes it even more disappointing. This product is incredibly versatile. You can mix it with your regular base (brightening moisturizer, foundation), blend it with concealer to cover dark circles, or mix it with blush to add a lively glow... Its versatility makes me reach for it even more often.
