I have combination dehydrated skin that tends to get very dry in winter. During seasonal changes, if I don't balance my oil and moisture levels well, I'm prone to blemishes. Recently, I've been experiencing some breakouts, so I've been drawn to gentler products that are effective for sebum control and dead skin cells. I was curious about this cleanser, and luckily I got the chance to try it! First off, I usually experience both surface tightness and deep dryness. I was worried that using this as a mask might be too drying, but that wasn't the case at all! While there was a slight tightness on the surface, it was much less drying than other cleansers I've used - even when used as a mask. For me, this alone is a significant advantage. I wanted to compare it to the VT Cica Mud Pack I used before, but it's been a while since I used that one. However, the smooth application and the fact that it doesn't harden as much as other masks over time seems similar! As for sebum control, it's working well so far, though I'll need to use it more to be sure. It seems quite effective for dead skin cells too. However, I'm currently using other skincare products focused on exfoliation, so I can't say definitively that this product is amazing for dead skin cells. But compared to other cleansers, it does seem a bit better in this aspect.
Well, if you're looking to use it solely as a foam cleanser, the lather might feel a bit lacking. However, after using it, I suspect that the less drying effect might be due to this reduced foam. So for me, it's not a major drawback, but if you prefer that squeaky-clean feeling, you might find the texture a bit disappointing. Other than that, I haven't noticed any other significant drawbacks!
For the best results, I recommend doing your oil or water cleansing separately, then just removing excess moisture before applying this as a mask. Leave it on while you shower, then rinse off. I follow this routine because if I wash my face first, it tends to dry out quickly after showering.
