It seems to function well as a sunscreen.
ConsFirst off, there's no seal on the opening. If not applied correctly, it can leave a severe white cast, and it doesn't absorb very well. Using a puff helps somewhat, but when applied with fingers, it feels quite thick and difficult to spread.

The affordable price and good ingredients convinced me to make the purchase. It really brightens up my complexion! While there are a few drawbacks, I'd still recommend it for its SPF50+++ protection and features at this price point.
ConsWow... As someone with dry skin, this makes my face incredibly parched. The absorption is a bit stiff too. You absolutely need to mix it with a moisturizer when applying. I guess with sunscreens, you have to accept that heavy, thick feeling. If you dislike white cast, I wouldn't recommend this.
TipFor those with dry skin, I recommend mixing it with your facial moisturizer before applying.

I was worried after reading many articles about sunscreen and coral reefs, but I'm glad this one is ocean-friendly. I'm almost out and planning to repurchase! The subtle pink tint seems to give my complexion a more lively look.
ConsIt's a bit thick, so I mix it with an emulsion before applying. If I use it alone, it feels dry and tends to pill, so I always have to blend it with something else.
TipIf you find it too thick, try mixing it with an emulsion before applying.

According to Hwahae's standards, the ingredients are decent. For a male with shade 24-25, the brightening effect wasn't overwhelming, which I appreciated. It felt natural and pleasant even for men. The scent was barely noticeable, almost fragrance-free. The price is reasonable, and with frequent discounts, it's quite affordable compared to the average sunscreen cost of around 20,000 won these days. -<Summary>- Recommended skin types: Oily, Combination Fragrance: Fragrance-free Hydration: Between low and moderate Value for money: Good
ConsAs someone with dry skin, I felt a burning sensation 4-5 hours after application. I've tried various sunscreens as a sunscreen nomad, but this is the first time I've experienced such a sensation. The hydration was a bit lacking, but that can be supplemented with skincare. The biggest issue was the application - it was too thick and difficult to spread, probably due to its high sun protection. Even when I mixed it with a moisturizer, it still felt heavy and didn't leave a nice finish. Aesthetically, it provided a natural brightening effect, which was nice, but overall, I'm quite disappointed. The burning sensation might make it challenging for those with sensitive skin too. <Summary> Not recommended for: Dry, Very dry, Sensitive skin Skin issues: No blemishes, but a noticeable burning sensation Subjective cons: 1. Thick, hard-to-spread texture 2. Burning sensation 3. Insufficient hydration Repurchase intention: No
TipWhen mixed with a moisturizer, it really gives a beautifully natural brightening effect!

The texture is matte, applying smoothly without feeling greasy or shiny. It's a light pinkish-white color that doesn't rub off on masks and naturally brightens my complexion. It really works hard to even out my skin tone.
ConsThe amount was less than I expected. Also, the application felt a bit stiff, which was somewhat disappointing.

I wish I had only bought shade #1 back then! Update as of March 2025: I had both shades #1 and #2 of this sunscreen. When I was seeing a dermatologist, I often got blemishes (while using #1 and frequently wearing a mask). I used #1 often because it was moisturizing, but it's the type that brings out oil, so it didn't suit my oily skin. The dermatologist said a matte-finish sunscreen would be better for me, so I switched to #2... and it works so well! No blemishes appear, and it has good staying power. I've only been using #2 since then! I never expected my review to change like this... haha!
ConsIf you don't apply your basic toner or moisturizer first, it goes on quite dry. Make sure to apply your basic skincare no matter how lazy you feel! Also, the brightening effect does fade a bit later on. Remember, it's recommended to reapply sunscreen every 4 hours!
TipBe mindful of how much sunscreen you apply - using too much can make you look overly pale. Lately, I've been applying sunscreen with a puff. I heard it reduces pilling, so I switched from using my hands to this method a few days ago! By the way, I'm the type who stocks up on this when it's on sale!

The brightening effect of sunscreen is incredibly important to me, and this little gem allows me to step out with just sunscreen on - it's truly a precious friend ٩꒰๑• ̫•๑꒱۶♡ It has a matte finish, and despite my sensitive skin, I worried unnecessarily. I don't recall any instances of irritation or blemishes.
ConsHowever, the downside is that its compatibility with your skincare routine is crucial. If you use heavy, oil-rich base products, this sunscreen tends to sit on top without absorbing properly. Also, if your skin lacks even a bit of hydration, it can feel dry and difficult to apply rather than smooth. It's a shame that this product only shines when you have the perfect balance of oil and moisture in your skincare routine.
TipIn these times when we're all wearing masks, why not set aside your foundation for a while? Using just this sunscreen, which provides some pore coverage, might be less suffocating for your skin. What do you think?

However, it didn't absorb as well as the No. 1 Fresh version. Unlike some brightening sunscreens that leave your face ghostly white, this one has a pink tint that gives a natural-looking complexion, which I was quite pleased with. I appreciate that Rom&nd sunscreens don't irritate my skin. As someone with super sensitive, blemish-prone skin, using the wrong sunscreen can lead to a breakout of potential blemishes after going out. (For those with sensitive skin, I'll share some sunscreens that caused a flare-up of potential blemishes when I used them: Atomy Sunscreen Beige, The Face Shop Natural Sun Eco Power Long-Lasting Sunscreen)
ConsAs expected from a brightening sunscreen, the texture felt a bit thick when applying. I'll compare prices between Espoir and Rom&nd and go for the cheaper option. For those with combination, blemish-prone skin, I highly recommend the green Espoir sunscreen. As for Rom&nd, the No. 1 Fresh was the best!
