As described, it has a thick cream cheese-like consistency, but when you gently spread a thin layer on your lips, it applies smoothly without clumping, feeling soft and velvety. The formula adheres well to the lips when applied, and it blends beautifully. It's easy to smudge with a brush or fingertips. Even without a brush, the pointed tip allows for a pretty application with a very light touch. The color is an orange with a hint of beige-brown. In fact, the brown undertone isn't very noticeable, so it could also be described as an orange-brick color. While the official website showed it as a deep brick-orange, the actual color isn't quite as deep - it's more of a 'deep, but not too deep' orange-brick. There's also a very slight fluorescent quality to it. Although it doesn't suit me perfectly, I still give it 5 stars because it's a good product overall, just not for my complexion. If you like matte lips and look good in slightly fluorescent orange tones, you'll probably love this lip color.
ConsThis lip product should never be applied thickly. The matte formula finishes silky when applied thinly, but clumps if layered too heavily. Because it needs to be applied in a thin layer, you might feel some dryness and notice emphasized dead skin cells on your lips as time passes. The scent has a subtle chocolate note, which I personally like, but it might be divisive as surprisingly many people dislike it. Although it comes in a tint container, this matte rouge is more of a thick liquid lipstick than a tint. It transfers less than regular lipsticks, but there is some transfer, so it wears off significantly after eating. Also, as it's not a staining product, you might be disappointed if you're expecting any lasting tint effect.
