While not a gel, it's a lightweight cream with a slight cooling effect. Unlike gel creams, it doesn't pill or slide off, but instead absorbs well, balancing oil and moisture. It leaves my skin feeling plump and supple, making it an excellent finishing product that doesn't feel heavy.
ConsAs the weather gets warmer, it can feel a bit heavy when sebum starts to build up in the pores. I can't use it during the day, so I'm using it as a night cream instead.
TipA little goes a long way, and it doesn't pill even when layered, so you can adjust usage based on your skin's daily condition. When concerned about dryness or dead skin cells, applying it thickly like a sleeping mask at night (avoiding the T-zone) leaves no residue and results in very plump, moisturized skin the next morning. The watery texture also makes it great for mixing with powder-type functional products!

Texture As someone with sensitive combination skin (dry inside, oily outside), I usually go for gentle, hydrating creams or products with centella. This cream's bouncy texture felt great when applied. 2. Scent The fragrance seems to be a love-it-or-hate-it feature. However, I didn't find it overwhelmingly strong, and it became more subtle after absorption, which was fine by me. 3. Absorption Most moisturizers I use leave a sticky residue, forcing me to sleep with a towel on my pillow. This product, however, absorbs within seconds, leaving only a thin, glowy layer of moisture that I found quite satisfying.
Cons1. Short testing period I had just started using a pore-related product when I received this, and the review period was shorter than expected. This made it difficult to properly evaluate the firming effects. 2. Packaging Initially, I thought it was a blind test, but it turns out the lack of labels was due to eco-friendly packaging. While that's great, as a firming cream, it's best applied in small amounts for my skin type, requiring a separate spatula. Luckily, I had one at home. This might be an oversight that could make it less ideal as a gift. 3. Winter dryness with heating Being a firming cream, not a moisturizer, some dryness is unavoidable. As someone with dehydrated, combination, sensitive skin that acts up during seasonal changes and gets flaky when the heating is on, I'm concerned. I can't apply too much moisturizer during the day due to oiliness, and overdoing it leads to blemishes. I usually seek products high in hydration but low in oil, sometimes using night creams or sticks. While this product works well now, I worry about using it alone during the heating season. Applying too much might be too much for my skin to handle.
TipWhile it's not exactly a pro tip due to the short testing period, when the weather gets colder and drier, it might be good to use a skin toner pack to soothe and refine skin texture before applying a thin layer of this cream. When applying, gently spread it from the corners of your mouth up towards your cheekbones. Use your fingertips to lightly pat any excess around the corners of your mouth, eyes, sides of your nose, and smile lines to help absorption.
