  Pros

  I snagged this at a great sale price, but even at full cost it's good value. It applies smoothly without drying out my skin, leaving a nice matte finish. I'm quite happy with it! Of course, there's that unavoidable capitalist reality - it can't quite match the quality of my previous Laura Mercier Translucent powder. However, it has a lovely clear pink tone with no yellow undertones and subtle shimmer that's quite pretty.

  Cons

  It tends to clump and break down a bit when applied with pressure. Actually, this isn't the complete product - it's a refill designed for those vintage reusable metal compact cases from decades ago. So naturally, the case is flimsy and there's no built-in applicator. On the bright side, the lid is quite tall, making it easy to store a separate puff if you provide one.

  Tip

  As with most pressed powders, it doesn't apply well with a brush. Remember: loose powder for brushes, pressed powder for puffs! Honestly, if you're not planning to carry it around, loose powder seems much better. This one's case is so flimsy it's not even suitable for on-the-go use.
