It's so convenient to use and the price is wallet-friendly, so I use it often. After using this product, I'm thrilled to see a significant reduction in my blemishes! There's nothing particularly disappointing, but if I had to nitpick, I'd say the scent isn't exactly pleasant. There's a subtle plastic-like smell from the pads. It doesn't bother me much since I'm not overly sensitive. Since it leaves my face feeling hydrated, I've found it works wonders on rough spots like heels and elbows too. Just a quick swipe helps remove dead skin cells! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJun 19, 2020
Pads★ I thought the pads would be extremely thin, but they're not that thin. They don't fall apart either. (Since they don't fall apart, it's a bit inconvenient for using as a skin pack, though.) Still, because they're not too thin, it's easy to separate them even when they're stuck together. Moisture★ It doesn't make your skin extremely moist, but it provides a moderate level of hydration. The moisturizing effect fades a bit quickly though. Exfoliation★ Perhaps because the pads are made of gauze-like material, they don't seem to exfoliate. This might be why the pads feel softer. Design★ It's convenient that it's designed to open easily. And I was surprised by how big it is - almost as big as my hand! Packaging★ The cactus design is super cute. Cooling effect★ It really does feel cool on the skin, but the cooling sensation doesn't last very long. Ingredients★ The ingredients are very gentle. So I think even those with sensitive skin could use it. Pads/ The pads separate too easily. And for those with sensitive skin, the pads might feel a bit rough on one side. Design/ It was a bit inconvenient not having tweezers to pull out the pads. There's a chance of transferring dust from your hands. Scent/ The scent is a bit like a factory smell? It could be the cactus scent, but it's not pleasant. Even after using it for a while, I can't get used to this smell. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJun 16, 2019
The gentle ingredients seem to be kind to my skin, causing no irritation, which is great. It's perfect for refining skin texture after cleansing. I love that it wipes off softly, allowing me to use it even on areas with blemishes without any irritation. It's moisturizing and cooling, making it ideal as a mask to help soothe heated skin. The flip-top lid, rather than a screw-top, makes it convenient to open and close, which I find really practical. The pads are a bit too tightly packed together, which can be slightly inconvenient. The scent tends to have a chemical smell, which might be hit or miss for some people. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 2, 2019
I was lucky enough to try this for free, and I'm pleasantly surprised. It's fragrance-free, which I appreciate. When I used it as an exfoliating toner after cleansing, it didn't cause any tingling or irritation. Instead, it left my skin feeling refreshed and balanced. As someone who doesn't like strong scents in skincare, this worked well for me. Overall, it's a decent product. The bottle is quite large, taking up a lot of space on my vanity. When I first opened it, there was an odd plastic-like smell, which was off-putting. Considering the size of the container, the price isn't particularly budget-friendly either. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 13, 2019
The Hwahae Testers review here! I wanted to keep it in the fridge, but since that was too much effort, I used it at room temperature twice daily for about 2 weeks! 1. One-touch cap! When you're in a rush in the morning, it's such a hassle to twist open a cap, right? And if you forget to close it once, it dries out... But with this product, you just need to pop the lid open - so convenient! I found it user-friendly throughout the entire usage period. 2. Vegan certified! I didn't know what 'vegan' meant, so I looked it up. It means the cosmetics were made without animal testing! It can be unsettling to think animals might have been harmed for our beauty products... But Yada made this product without animal testing! We can use it with peace of mind. 3. Sheet! The material felt very soft, possibly cotton, and the size was much larger than other toner pads - about 1.5 times bigger? It was also relatively thick. While it's gentle and non-irritating, it's not particularly effective for physical exfoliation. The essence amount was just right - not so much that it drips or gets in your eyes, nor so little that you have to rub hard. 4. Ingredients! I think Hwahae doesn't even feature products with bad ingredients. This one also has skin-friendly components. While I don't have sensitive skin, so it didn't make much difference to me, it seems like a great option for those with sensitive skin! 5. Soothing effect? It's supposed to have a soothing effect, but... it happened to coincide with that time of the month... and I broke out like crazy. It's definitely not because of this product! Anyway, I'm not sure about its exact soothing properties, but it couldn't calm the hormone-induced blemishes. Just FYI. 6. Cleansing...?? I'm not sure why a toner pad would have cleansing effects, but I tried removing makeup with it to test this out. The results weren't bad! It removed face makeup well, and even my waterproof mascara (which is the hardest to remove) came off a bit. While this probably isn't its intended use, this experiment might show that it's effective in removing impurities. Not entirely sure though. 1. Scent! I've gotten used to it now, but when I first smelled it, there was a somewhat chemical odor. As I kept using it, I noticed a faint cool scent. Maybe it's cactus? Personally, I prefer products with added fragrances, so this goes in the cons list for me. But for those who prioritize fragrance-free products, this could be a plus! 2. Hydration (moisturizing power)! It wasn't particularly bad. However, it didn't give a feeling of intense hydration, more like it just filled in. About 50% hydrated feeling. After a while, I could feel a slight dryness. For my combination skin, this was the result, so I think it might be insufficient for dry or very dry skin types. That's why I put it in the cons. It might work better if you leave it on your face like a skin pack, but that feels wasteful... Anyway, by my standards, it prevented flaking skin! +I tried using it as a skin pack, but it doesn't adhere well to the face. Not recommended. Just use it as an exfoliating toner. Recommended for normal, combination-oily, and oily skin types! Those with dry skin can use it too, but you might not feel that intense hydration boost. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinMay 13, 2019
I have oily skin with deep dryness. I mainly use pads for final cleansing, skin texture improvement, dead skin cell management, and to check for irritation. I used this product twice daily, morning and evening. This review is based on usage from early May (1st-3rd) until the 13th. Packaging: Unlike typical twist-open cases, this one opens from the top, making it very convenient to use! Pads: The pads are made of pure cotton, so they're truly non-irritating! I had a lot of blemishes before using these, but they didn't worsen, probably because the pads are so gentle. Size! They're huge! I compared them to Innisfree's No Sebum pads - the large size makes them great for use as a hydrating mask. Thickness: These pads are thicker than other brands, which means they hold more toner. You know how cotton pads soaked in toner dry out quickly? Not these! They stay moist for longer, which is great for managing deep dryness. Scent: I couldn't detect any fragrance while using them - they're unscented! I like that they're fragrance-free for the initial skincare steps. pH 5.5 Slightly Acidic: Our skin becomes alkaline after cleansing, which is why we use slightly acidic cleansing foams. Using these pads right after washing definitely feels less irritating to the skin. Moisture: They're extremely hydrating. I usually do the 3-skin or 4-skin method to combat deep dryness, but after using an exfoliating toner, I just flip these pads over and pat them on my skin - no more deep dryness! Versatility: They contain peppermint extract, which makes them great for a cooling skin pack when you're feeling hot. The pads are large and don't dry out quickly! Overall: I highly recommend these to anyone looking for a daily pad that hydrates and manages deep dryness without irritation! They're also good for improving skin texture. I've tried many pads, but these really stand out! Compare reviews carefully and give them a try! Container: When you open it, there's an overwhelmingly strong plastic smell... and it's so big it takes up a lot of space! Also, after using it for a while, the flip-top lid seems to be broken as it doesn't close properly... Pads: While it's good that they're gentle, the lack of an embossed side means they're not great for exfoliation, which is disappointing. I exfoliate separately when cleansing, but if you're looking to exfoliate with pads, I wouldn't recommend these! Price: 60 pads for 22,000 won seems a bit expensive... *Apparently, you can refill them with pure cotton pads and cactus toner after finishing these! Contamination: During use, I found a black spot on one of the pads. Unfortunately, I can't show you the photo as it wasn't saved. It was a black spot that looked like ink.
