Skin type: Oily / Combination dehydrated / Acne-prone As someone with acne-prone skin, I'm very selective about skincare products and only use gentle ones. I was drawn to this toner because of its skin-friendly ingredients. After using it for about a week, I'm happy to report that it didn't cause any new blemishes. Recently, I've been using acne medication which has been quite irritating, causing dead skin cells to build up and dryness. However, even with just this toner and my usual gentle emulsion, my skin feels well-hydrated without any dryness. Actually, due to the medication, the area around my eyes was irritated, red, and flaking badly. I initially thought it was the toner, but it turned out to be a reaction to the medication. After skipping the medication for a couple of days and just using this toner and emulsion morning and night, the pain subsided and the flaking improved. This really shows how gentle the formula is. The texture is what's often called a 'runny nose' consistency. It's slightly viscous, so I use it more as a hydrating toner rather than an exfoliating one. Even with just one layer, it fills my skin with moisture, leaving it plump as if I've applied an essence. I also love the simple packaging. There's no wasteful paper box or outer label, which will make recycling easier later on.
As someone who prefers fragrance-free products, I find the scent a bit strong for my liking. It has a slight lemon fragrance, but it's not overpowering. If you're not particularly sensitive to fragrances, it shouldn't be a major issue.
I apply acne medication daily, and my routine goes: toner - medication - emulsion (switching to a richer moisturizer when my skin feels dry) Even with this simple routine, my skin stays well-hydrated. For those with oily skin, I'd recommend applying just one or two layers, as multiple layers might be too much.
