I couldn't find any shortcomings.

The cost-effectiveness is so-so. I got this as a freebie when I bought some Clinique stuff, so I've been carrying it around and using it, but I probably wouldn't buy it on its own. The drugstore has similar light-colored lip balms for cheaper.
I'm not sure about the other shades, but the #7 one I received is not much different from a regular red-tinted lip balm.
