It applies smoothly and absorbs incredibly quickly. It doesn't feel sticky at all. Perhaps because I have oily skin, my face feels quite greasy after application. It's fine when I layer foundation on top though. - su********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 25, 2023
This line seems fantastic for dry skin, both in winter and summer. There's a noticeable difference in dryness on days when I use it versus when I don't... It's especially less drying in winter and when wearing sunscreen. The entire line seems tailor-made for more mature individuals and those with dry skin. I also appreciate that they've improved their packaging recently. The downsides are the price and the fragrance. Sometimes the scent can be overwhelmingly strong. It might even be stronger than Sulwhasoo... However, it's probably a fragrance that mothers and grandmothers would enjoy. - bl**********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 9, 2023
The absorption and application are great, and I love everything about it. It makes my skin feel hydrated without being too much or too little. I'd rank it among the best emulsions I've tried. The packaging is pretty, and using the set together makes my vanity look so neat and tidy. There's not really anything to complain about. At first, I thought the scent was a bit strong, but you get used to it as you use it. The fragrance might be a matter of personal preference, but I found it fine. I feel like it absorbs even better when used together with the toner. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedFeb 28, 2023
The Hoo Hwahyun Emulsion is probably the best emulsion I've ever used. I received it as a gift and tried it out. It offers the perfect balance of hydration and oil with a smooth application. As someone with combination skin, it eliminated the flaky dead skin cells that kept appearing around my mouth like eczema. It also maintained a good balance in oily areas like my nose. I've become a total fan! It's quite expensive, and it would be absolutely perfect if they changed the lid to a pump dispenser. After applying toner and essence, I use this emulsion. On days when I'm tired and exhausted, I generously spray on mist and then apply a liberal amount of this emulsion, even though it's pricey. It's a shame there aren't any special tips for using it. - sm****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 31, 2023
Despite its potent ingredients, this emulsion is surprisingly gentle when used. It's a unique product that satisfies both my mom's combination-dry skin and my oily skin. It absorbs well without any sticky feeling, making it a pleasure to use. My mom is so content with this emulsion that she doesn't even feel the need to follow up with a nourishing cream. There are no real drawbacks. The scent is a bit strong, but that seems to be typical of The History of Whoo products. - 19**************Dry SkinRecommendedOct 10, 2022
Excellent hydration and effectively improves complexion. While initially moisturizing, the hydration doesn't last long and there seems to be some pilling. - tj*****Dry SkinRecommendedJun 7, 2021
My skin is dry, but the entire Hwa Hyun line - toner, essence, emulsion, and oil - are all my holy grails. I've been using them for over 7 years... They're truly amazing, not sticky at all, yet provide incredible hydration. Once you try them, you'll understand why they're pricey and worth every penny. They completely restore your skin... These are products that should never be discontinued! The only downside is that there are no downsides! It's just that good!!! It was pretty good! My mom is currently using the Cheongi-dan set and she loves how well it absorbs! It's really nice, and I definitely recommend it. There's not really anything to complain about... Well, I guess the quality comes with a higher price tag... Since I have very dry skin, in the evening I add a drop of oil to the emulsion before applying it! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 4, 2020
It applies smoothly and absorbs reasonably well. I've been using the Hwa Hyun line for a while, then switched to Hwa Yul, but now I'm back to Hwa Hyun. I think Hwa Yul might be slightly better though. I've been loyal to the Hwa Hyun line and enjoy using it, but I'm considering switching next time. They say sticking to the same line for too long isn't good for your skin, and I'm worried because I've been experiencing persistent blemishes lately. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedMar 6, 2020
Gentle on the skin and maintains a great oil and moisture balance, making it suitable for combination skin types I use it as a set with the Hwahae Balancer (a viscous toner), but the emulsion always runs out first because it has a smaller volume
