The gel texture made it smooth and pleasant to apply. There was a slight cooling effect when applying, which made it great for light use during summer. As for the scent, there didn't seem to be any added fragrance, so I could detect a faint smell of the raw ingredients, but it wasn't noticeable enough to be bothersome. While it feels powdery once absorbed, it takes time to sink in. The vitamin capsules in the gel don't seem to break easily, so you need to massage it well for proper absorption. It's a product that lacks richness, so the hydration is on the weaker side. I felt some deep dryness, especially in areas with thinner skin, so it might be challenging to use alone in seasons other than summer. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 8, 2023
True to its name, it's a water gel cream through and through! It's a moisturizing cream bursting with hydration, and once absorbed, there's hardly any stickiness. It's almost oil-free and packed with moisture, making it perfect for those with oily skin. It's great for all skin types in summer, but as the cool winds started, it felt a bit dry for my combination skin. I wouldn't recommend this for those with very dry skin or those who need some oil in their skincare! While it's a water gel cream full of hydration, I felt it fell short in balancing oil and moisture. Apart from the vitamin capsules not dissolving well, I didn't find any other drawbacks. Slather it on irritated skin and it calms down quickly! I loved using it as a sleeping pack - it felt cool and refreshing. If aloe gel doesn't work for you, I think this might be a good alternative to try. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinSep 8, 2023
As someone with combination dehydrated skin who tends to sweat a lot in summer, I love lightweight gel moisturizers that are hydrating yet not heavy. This product was just perfect for me. It's so hydrating that I'll definitely reach for it again next summer. While it's quite hydrating, as autumn approaches, I feel it doesn't provide enough deep hydration for my combination dehydrated skin. That's a bit disappointing. This works great for those with combination dehydrated or oily skin types, especially during the summer months. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSep 7, 2023
* Many brands are using eco-friendly packaging without plastic these days, and this product follows suit, which makes me feel good even before using it. * As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I always use gel creams from various brands in summer. The Makioll Water Gel Cream is a perfect match for my skin type. * It's lightweight, non-sticky, and doesn't leave a greasy finish. * The yellow vitamin capsules absorb completely without any bothersome feeling when applying. * Unlike other gel creams I've used with spatulas or my hands, this tube packaging is more hygienic. * Although I have combination dehydrated skin, I think this might be difficult to use outside of summer. It has almost no rich feel, so it might be suitable for those with oily skin. * If you apply too much, it can pill. If you want to apply a thicker layer, you need to apply multiple thin layers and let each one absorb. * Keeping the gel cream in the refrigerator and applying it cool is heavenly during hot summers. I always use it this way, as it's also soothing on sunburned or irritated skin. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 6, 2023
This product is incredibly gentle. It's not easy to find truly mild skincare, but this one is exceptionally so! Even my super sensitive skin tolerated it well. True to its gel-cream nature, it's incredibly lightweight. Once applied and absorbed, you might wonder if you even put anything on - that's how quickly it absorbs. I also loved the vitamin capsules in the cream, which gave my complexion a subtle brightening effect. These capsules dissolve instantly without any irritation, which is another plus. As someone with dry skin, I found this product disappointing. The formula doesn't provide any noticeable hydration, feeling too light even for midsummer use. It might be suitable for those with oily skin during summer, but for combination or dry skin types, it's challenging to use even in warm weather. This cream is 100% hydration, 0% rich - it lacks any moisturizing properties. As someone with dry skin, I found this product disappointing. My skin type is combination, and while I don't usually have much excess oil, I tend to get oilier in summer. This cream is perfect for summer use, so it's great to use now. I loved how it's refreshing, absorbs instantly, and leaves my skin feeling hydrated. I also discovered it contains vitamin capsules - I noticed the little yellow beads. However, the application is so smooth you wouldn't even know they're there. It seems ideal for those with combination dehydrated skin rather than dry skin types. As we're in between seasons now, my weather-sensitive skin finds the hydration satisfactory, but it lacks richness. I felt the need to apply it twice as once wasn't enough. It's a shame it's only suitable for summer use. However, it would be perfect for those with oily or combination dehydrated skin. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinJul 4, 2023
I applied it without much expectation, but the hydration is great. One application keeps my skin moisturized for a long time, and there's no eye irritation. I'm satisfied with both the texture and how it absorbs. While the moisturizing power is excellent, it claims to balance oil and moisture, but my skin tends to get oily quite quickly. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 21, 2023
- This product is gentle and hydrating, making it perfect for slathering on generously during summer nights. - I'm quite sensitive to cosmetic scents, so I really appreciated that this product is nearly fragrance-free. - It was disappointing that the capsules inside didn't burst easily. - True to its description as a water gel cream, it has almost no rich feel, which might not be suitable for winter use. - There's a slight feeling of the product sitting on top of the skin, making it less than ideal for use before applying makeup in the morning. - When my face feels flushed from sun exposure, I love using a cooling sheet mask followed by a generous application of this product. It really helps calm my skin and even improves how well my makeup applies the next day. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 11, 2023
The gel cream feels refreshing and not overly rich. The embossed design and subtle color of the box are absolutely gorgeous. It's an excellent value with its 80ml large size and affordable price. As someone with super sensitive skin that needs a bit of richness, I found this cream lacking in moisture. It had that typical gel cream feeling of drying tight and sticky, which was a bit disappointing, so I ended up giving it to my sister (she's not picky and uses anything). The hydration doesn't last - it feels cool when applied but actually becomes drying over time. Update 10/19/23: I've found a solution to this issue by layering a slightly more oily cream on top. Applying the gel cream multiple times and then sealing it with a richer cream can give you that 'just left the dermatologist' complexion! This method could work for combination to combination dehydrated skin types too! Those with dry skin should absolutely avoid this. Even oily skin types might only find it suitable for peak summer, unless you pair it with a richer cream. Try layering the gel cream multiple times, then seal it with an oily cream for best results. - Hwahae UserOily SkinFeb 22, 2023
It feels moisturizing and refreshing. I use it after evening out my skin texture with toner pads. At night, I apply a generous amount before bed. When I wake up in the morning, my skin feels hydrated without being overly greasy, which I love. I've found that keeping it in the refrigerator makes it even more pleasant to use, as the cool sensation is really nice. This product seems to have more hydration than oil content. As someone with extremely oily skin, it worked fine for me, but I don't think it would be suitable for those with dry skin.
