A miracle worker for improving lip flakiness and fine lines! I knew ISOI lip balm was good, but hesitated due to the price. Now I see why it's so popular. I thought nothing beat Carmex for moisturizing at that price point, but ISOI is far superior for lip makeup. Carmex is very hydrating but oily, making lipstick application patchy. ISOI's balm has a natural rosy tint and feels lightweight, allowing lip products to apply beautifully over it. It's the perfect base for matte lipsticks that tend to emphasize dead skin cells! The Bulgarian rose oil seems to really nourish the lips, and I'm thrilled it's free from artificial colorants and packed with beneficial ingredients.
This shade might suit cool-toned individuals with fair skin better. As a warm-toned person with a tan, I prefer coral shades, and this rosy color looks a bit dated on me. It makes my complexion appear dull. I'm using it purely for lip care now, but I really wish they'd release a coral version. Those with naturally dark or reddish lips might find the color payoff disappointing.
I'm prone to cheilitis and have extremely dry lips, but using this alongside Carmex has completely eliminated flakiness. Carmex helps soften existing dead skin cells, so I apply it generously at night like a lip mask. The next morning during cleansing, the dead skin cells just slough right off! And when I use the ISOI balm before applying lip products, I don't have to worry about blemishes at all!
