For nearly 5 years, I couldn't find a suitable skincare product. My super sensitive skin was stuck in an endless cycle of acne, dryness with dead skin cells, or redness whenever I applied anything. Changing products only helped temporarily - after a week, my skin would always get itchy or become a mess. Going without moisturizer was often best. I switched to this from Skin&Lab, which gave me too many tiny bumps. This product has such clean ingredients that there's nothing to irritate the skin. If this doesn't work for someone, finding a suitable cosmetic might be really tough. I hope it doesn't get discontinued. I bought it with low expectations, half-doubting, but it's amazing. I'm so glad to have found a truly simple skincare product that wasn't made just for commercial purposes. The packaging is disappointing. Is it due to production costs? It would be great if it came in a tube. As a pastry chef, I often drop things, and it feels unhygienic to dip back into this. Scooping with hands isn't great either. Everything can get contaminated with bacteria, so a tube would be much better. Apart from that, the product itself is good. Some say it's drying, but for my combination-oily skin that gets super dry but then oily later in the day, it works well. Cosmetics should support, not be relied on entirely, but these days moisturizing products seem to go overboard - they're too rich and over-hydrating. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessRecommendedJan 25, 2024
I've been using this for years. No complaints, but I'm just a bit bored and thinking of switching. I'm writing this review 10 minutes after opening Hwahae... It's the quintessential hydrating cream, so combination dehydrated skin might feel dry in fall and winter. When that happens, I mix it with a rich vitamin E oil and apply. The fact that you need to apply it with a spatula. I always end up getting lazy and scooping it with my fingers. While the jar format allows you to use every last bit, I wish it came in a tube instead. It never pills, so you can layer it multiple times. The official website is truly awful - no matter how many times I try to register, I can't log in (on iPhone). Just buy two jars for free shipping...
