I have extremely dry skin that's prone to blemishes if it lacks even a bit of hydration. After neglecting my skincare due to parenting, I returned to work wearing a mask all day, which immediately triggered skin issues. I knew I needed to focus on hydration from the toning step, and that's when I started using the d'Alba White Truffle Double Serum and Cream. The absorbs well and doesn't cause any blemishes, which I love. The serum is lightweight and hydrating, while the cream has a richer texture. When mixed together, they create a moisturizing and nourishing layer that absorbs well into the skin (though I always struggle with the right amount!). You can adjust the ratio based on your skin's needs. For me, I use 2 parts serum to 1 part cream during the day, and 1 part serum to 2 parts cream at night before bed. The fragrance lasts quite a while. I usually prefer unscented products, but this scent isn't unpleasant. When I apply it before bed, the aroma lingers for quite some time.
As many might think, the price is a bit steep. I still can't seem to get the amount right. It feels wasteful, but I always end up using too much. When I mix the two, the volume increases even more, so I end up applying it to my face, neck, and both hands.
I apply this serum and cream combo after using toner once. I feel like adding anything else in between might be too much for my skin to absorb. As I mentioned earlier, I find that a 2:1 ratio of serum to cream works best for me during the day, while a 1:2 ratio is ideal for nighttime use.
