It's my first time trying a vegan product, as I've never used one before. While my lips don't have major issues, I do pay extra attention during seasonal changes. The application is smooth, gliding on like a solid highlighter. It feels like applying a thin layer of Nivea's blue tin cream to your lips. There's hardly any scent, and the ingredients are gentle. The texture when applying (subjectively) feels somewhere between rich and glossy. Overall, it gives more of a smooth and silky feeling rather than a deeply hydrated one, which might be polarizing for some users. I applied it twice before bed, and it felt like it was sealing in existing moisture rather than replenishing hydration. This sensation lingered on my lips until the next morning. It calms minor dead skin cells well, but absorption seems to take longer on the inner part of the lips. I appreciated that once absorbed, it leaves a clean finish without any residual slickness.
ConsBeing vegan, it seems to come with a slightly higher price point. The absorption rate isn't as quick as I expected. I wouldn't recommend using a matte lipstick over this. Its soothing performance might be uncertain for those with severe lip flaking.
TipWhen I have severe flaking, I apply honey to my lips and cover them with plastic wrap. With this product, I found it worked better when I reapplied after the initial application had been absorbed.
