The color payoff is better than I expected. While I don't have severe lip flaking, I've been using toner pads every evening to gently exfoliate my lips, followed by a generous application of sleeping pack or lip balm. This routine always left noticeable dead skin on the toner pads. However, with this product, I can apply it without a mirror, and it not only removes dead skin cells but also evens out the color difference between the inner and outer parts of my lips! I was skeptical about natural products, but this worked so well that I repurchased it. I apply it before bed and whenever I think of it throughout the day. While I'm not sure if it's improved my lip's natural color, frequent application helps the color adhere well. The case is slim, making it easy to slip into any pocket. Though it seems like a cost-effective design, the matte finish gives it a nice feel.
Some say it doesn't apply well on damp lips, but I always wipe my lips dry before applying lip products, so it wasn't an issue for me. The downsides are the limited color range and that in trying to achieve strong pigmentation naturally, the shades can appear slightly dark or dull. However, this effect lessened once the dead skin cells were removed. The biggest drawback might be the price. While it's often (always?) on sale, I'd hesitate to buy it at full price.
Applying it before bed and carrying it in your pocket for frequent use results in rosy lips both day and night. It's a must-have when I'm with my boyfriend. (While frequent application doesn't stain like a tint, it barely transfers to pillows or clothes.) Also, I have a deep undertone complexion, and I bought all the colors just in case. The hot pink really didn't suit me, unfortunately. For those unsure about colors, it's best to follow the guide when purchasing.
